Interesting Skype Problem

Featured Replies

Ideas anyone.

I'm running Skype on my laptop here in sunny Rotterdam. It works perfectly in both the hotels I've stayed at and in the client's office.

BUT

In the company office, problem. Connects OK, audio is ok for a variable period up to 5 mins or so, then outgoing audio cuts off, incoming remains fine.

Disconnect, redial, OK for a time then outgoing dies again.

Does the same if I use Skypeout.

Weird, any bright ideas??

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

I sometimes get a similar problem, only opposite, when my shared satelite connection is slow. They hear me but I can't hear them. It comes good again when the other users finish downloading.

A rather random solution I'm afraid, but sometimes when my call quality starts to fade I find checking / unchecking and clicking the save button under 'Tools -> Options -> Sounds devices -> Let Skype adjust my sound device settings' mid-call sometimes increases clarity.

Hope that helps :o

Is the company connection blocking or partially blocking Skype?

Some do as there is talk that your conenction can act as a super-node for Skype and use up all your bandwidth if you have a good bandwidth available. Unlikely to happen to a Thai user!
