Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a basic motorcycling course, similar to the MSF programs offered in the USA?  Looking for training either in Pattaya or Bangplee / Bang Na areas. Can be private or public and need not carry any certification. Only looking to improve skills / gain confidence in riding.

Thanks in in advance for any suggestions.

What bike you want to ride ?

Because you want English speaking training l would guess just ride with some farangie guys living in Pattaya who go for e.g. Sunday rides or something.

Kawasaki, thanks for your reply. We are not on high capacity bikes, only 250-500 cc.  Not looking for a group to ride with, but for actual coaching.

Bira Race Circuit used to have something (Highside Tours), but not for a while now. Maybe worth a call to Bira Circuit and they may know someone for you to hook up with.

looks like you can just rock up to the track in the mornings with your bike for THB1,200. Maybe soemone on the forum is willing to teach a small group? The kart track would be a good option if no one else is using it.

Avoid going out with groups or clubs, most drive like lunatics and think public roads are actually race tracks!!

You sound like you don't ride alot, "most" is the operative word.

l disagree having ridden out and coming across many groups, stopping at garage found they were all friends, some with motorbike pillion passengers.

Of coarse you get irresponsible riders just the same as car drivers. :)

He was probably overtaken by a couple of riders and jumped to the same conclusion as most non-bikers do that all bikers are idiots and ride like lunatics.

There is a Yamaha Driver training centre on Bang-na-trad around K20 on the same side as Huachiew University, Bang Phli. I have never actually seen anyone inside there, but maybe you could go and check ??.

Google Yamaha riding academy and it shows a place a little off Bang na trad.

cheers
