Prachuap Khiri Khan to hold forest restoration activity

PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, 8 August 2016 (NNT) – Prachuap Khiri Khan Province is set to hold a forest planting ceremony to restore the fertility of Pranburi National Park honoring Her Majesty the Queen.

Pranburi National Park Chief Somsak Kritatorn has revealed a forest planting ceremony will be taking place in the Pranburi estuary forest development area from the royal initiation located inside Pranburi National Park on 17 August 2016, to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s 84th birthday 12 August 2016.

The activity will see participants plant trees in an area of land consisting of 84 rais to restore the forest's fertility. Other activities include the release of 8,400,000 marine animals, and the construction of a water retention dyke to relieve drought in the area.

Pranburi estuary is an area which Their Majesties the King and Queen have placed a high importance as the model for forest conservation.
