New Car Purchase

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I was considering purchasing a second-hand car. Looking for a '99 or '00 Toyota Celica, '04 Subaru WRX STi, MY98 Subaru Impreza WRX, Mazda FC3S RX-7 or even a '91 BNR32 Nissan Skyline GT-R.

Anyone has any idea as to:

1. Where I can buy either of these cars

2. Find a good selection of aftermarket parts

3. Find a good garage to service the car

4. How much the car would cost on average

Would very much appreciate any information.

Just moved to Bangkok a month or so back, and will be here for the next 4-5 years. My Thai peers have tried to convince me to get a BMW or a Merc, but I'm really not so hot for either of those.

Thanks.

Hi Dissolution,

Nice choice of cars...better than a Merc or BM.

Ok,chances of getting the following here:

Celica Some available around BKK,nt too difficult to find.No idea of price though.

Subaru Impreza Lots around,easy to find.2 million for a 2002.750k for a 1997.

RX-7 A few around and easy to find a hi-spec model.1.7 for a 1993.

BNR R32 Forget it mate!

R32 GTR 1994 about 1million.

The best places for performance Jap cars are:

Buddy Performance Cars 02 805 6767 (Sell all the above cars)

Infinity call Alex on 081 671 6666

Try the following sites:

www.rcweb.net

www.one2car.com

Parts arent a problem and can be bought at lots of the performance parts shops. If you need any numbers, let me know.

If youre after Skyline parts, got to P&P Performance in SriNakarin.Ive used this place in the past for servicing and R32 parts and recommend it.

Good luck and let me know what u get!

Sky.

Hi guys,

Thanks loads for the responses.

I'll definitely be looking into the pages/places mentioned. I assume you've got an R32 yourself, Sky? :o

Oh, just another quick question, do they have Miatas here?

p.s. Do they have wide body kits here?

Not many Miatas here due to the fact they are convertible and Thais hate convertibles!

Wide body kits are available but ive never seen any actually look good on a car.My friend is currently having a kit installed on his R34 GTT and that has cost him almost 220k!!

I dont have an R32 anymore,I sold that more than a year ago due to the fact I needed a 4 door car.Ive got a Civic now:)

Thought I'd finally found the car I was looking for at:

http://www.one2car.com/CarInfor/carresult....%c1%bb%d583-90)

Sadly, while it looks like an FC, it's listed as an '83 model. FCs only came into production in '85. Also, they took out the 13B rotary engine and put in a Skyline's RB20 engine. It also needs a whole bunch of upgrades, and I imagine it's going to be a pain in the ass locating a 13B engine together with a garage/mechanic who's profecient in rotaries.

:o

Thats a pretty cheap RX7.The engine is from a Cefiro.

Finding a replacement rotary shouldnt be too much of a problem, try Chaeng Khong in Bangna-Trat Rd.

Thanks loads for the help, Sky :o

I just love rotaries :D And I love the look of the FC series RX-7s; restored one where I came from as well.

Be sure to post a pic if you get a car!!!

Ive just been drift racing with my Nissan Silvia S15 Copperhead...Its radio-controlled and about a foot long:)Great Fun!
