Mitsubishi free 1st class insurance

Featured Replies

Was unsure whether to post here as its specifically related to a specific car or in the insurance forum, so mods feel free to move.

Does anyone know anything about the free first class insurance with new models? Presumably its the same vanilla insurance across Thailand and the same insurance company, although TIT so who knows!

My questions is around courtesy cars, does the insurance or perhaps Mitsubishi themselves offer this service if the car needs to go in for say a week or more?

Any helpeful responses would be much appreciated as usual

cheers

Our Triton came with first class insurance from Tokyo Marine. Sadly we had to use them in the first week when a motorcycle ran into it. No problems with the response from the insurance company. Have not read the policy but doubt it includes a courtesy car; does not seem to be a normal inclusion from insurance companies here.

Typically, the first class insurance that is given by Mitsubishi for new cars is by Tokio Marine Insurance. The insurance will provide road side assistance for a year as well. So after a year, if you change insurance company, you will have to pay for your own road side assistance (Problem that may happen to the car that is not from an accident like a dead battery).

Tokio Marine is pretty good at responding to accident and are very fast to claim at Mitsubishi Dealer. I used the one near Onnut BTS station and knows the staff who handles claims so it get sorted pretty fast. Plus, she claims Tokio Marine is one of the few insurance firms that will allow a car to be repaired while they process the documents.

They, like majority of the insurance firm here will not include a courtesy car.. I think Dipaya do offset the cost but not offer it fully free though..

Check out various brokers and insurance firm. They will have such promotion from time to time.

My first year's free insurance was from Tokyo Marine also. It took me weeks of complaining to the dealer to receive any proper documentation and at the end of the first year no one contacted me to propose a renewal price, so of course I went elsewhere. I made no claims during the first year, nor have I in the subsequent three years.

So based on my limited experience I think they are best described as a bunch of tossers, but that seems to be par for the course for businesses here.

My experience with TM was not very good either. I started getting phone calls from "agents" about the insurance renewal about 5 months before the renewal date and i got so many it really pissed me off. Strangely when the insurance renewal date actually came i got no renewal notice nor a renewal quote, so i went elsewhere via AA.

I got no phone calls from anyone but as I never gave the dealer my phone number that's not surprising.

Their apparent inability to send out renewal notices is bewildering.

No problems with Tokio Marine here either.  Had them for the first couple of years, but on the third year they did not want to renew our policy.  Admittedly Mrs. Awk and I had more than our fair share of minor but expensive, and entirely self caused accidents, so I wouldn't really want to have us a customer either.

Getting a loaner car was never a possibility I heard mentioned though.

Friend just ordered a new Pajero and is getting 2 years free insurance plus so many extras for free, absolute brilliant deal.

2 YEARS! That's fantastic! I bet you can claim as many times as you want during the first year without having the worry about the second year insurance! -Just kidding-

Typically, TM won't call to ask for insurance renewal.... I had my finance company, Tisco, call me up to check if I wanted to renew my insurance with TM..

In the past 3 years of dealing with insurance, I have never had anyone from the insurance company call me up to ask if I want to renew my car insurance, only the finance company would do so.

My agent sends me an SMS twice a year, every year. Once for the government insurance and once for my premium cover. They include details of the prices and the date by which it needs paying. Never fails.

I dont have a finance company as I paid cash.

By Agent, do you mean your car dealer or your insurance broker?

When I purchased a new Mitsu Lancer it came with a one year free first class insurance policy from Tokyo Marine.  Prior to the expiry date of the insurance, I priced compared different companies and found Dhipaya offered the lowest rates for the same coverage.  I have been using them every year and the renewals keep going down by about twenty per cent.
