True wifi hospots for using at home, any good?

You could try it for a few hours, a day or week, they have many options, and see if it works well for your applications.

If you have a mobile phone, you may be able to get some WiFi usage bundled into a pre-paid plan, along with mobile (3G/4G) data? (It may be simpler to 'manage' a True WiFi plan with a TrueMove H-equipped mobile phone.

There may be some fair-use terms on the WiFi, which might limit total usage over some period, or hourly caps, although I couldn't find any on-line.

If it is the one I think you are talking about, I used to use it as a back up for when my home internet connection was down, the only issue I had with it was that it will drop you out every hour, even when you are in the middle of something, then you have to log back in.

It also requires a sim card, but you can still log in via your laptop or desktop, but only one device at a time.

i have true through a pocket wifi 4G  router. i cant believe how good it is. guess it depends a bit on where you are. we could not get ADSL where we are living but the battery powered router works just about any where. great to keep my son entertained in the car.

Internet speed is often quoted point to point, in this case maybe your phone to their nearest transmitter or a local server. More important is international speed... or bandwidth. That will vary day to day, hour to hour. True seem to fail in some locations.

You need to try it out.

You can look through some posts on pantip dot com, some pretty sick True WiFi speedtest results; 85 Mbps/45 Mbps.

You're only paying for local bandwidth, not international bandwidth.

Note that this service is not the same as some posts above indicate (3G/4G mobile data with a WiFi AP). If there is a True WiFi AP close by your home then it may be one of the better alternatives?
