Visa In Full U.S. Passport

Featured Replies

If a new passport resets the visa exempt he would like to get a visa in Laos then renew the passport. The passport is full. It has the final 3 pages at the very back of the passport. Will IO even put a visa on those pages?

His plans are as follows:

1. Get an Extension for his 30 days exempt in Octomber.

2. E-visa to Cambodia in November then back to Thailand on exempt

3. Spent Christmas and New Year in Bali then back to Thailand on exempt

4. Get a visa in Laos in February

5. Get new passport

6. Return to USA

Can 1 thru 4 be done on the final 3 pages located in the back of a USA passport? He spend 6/7 months a year in Thailand. Thanks

  • A new passport doesn't reset Visa Exempt Entry history.
  • I'm not sure if 3 pages is enough. (4.) will take 2 pages alone with the laos and Thai visas and (1.) will take half a page.

Those last 3 pages are for endorsements only (just looked at my passport). Only by mistake would a immigration officer put a stamp on those pages.

Does he have any partial pages that can be stamped for departures and entries.

It would probably be best for him to get a new passport now. It only takes about 2 weeks to get one.

Getting a new passport will not erase his history of visa exempt entries since his passports will be linked as soon as he uses his new one.
