Reasonable price for 19" tyres

I have had 2 quotes for new tyres for my mazda cx5 diesel both between 8 & 9000 baht per tyre which i think is expensive but since i have never owned a car with such big wheels is this about the normal price , the tyres are 225/55/19

 

Would like to hear from people with experience of getting tyres this size fitted

Almost $ 300 per tire seems expensive...what are they, some super-premium low-profile racing tire or something? Are you buying at a mazda dealer or aftermarket seller? Most tires run 3-4k each. Maybe price compare to Lazada pricing to get an idea if your being snookered.

Sounds about right to me as well. Better than the Fortuner Sportivo there nearly 11,000 each for 265/60/18 if you want Bridgestone.

When I changed mine I managed to get a better deal using Nitto NT 420S tyres their Japanese. Cost a total of 29th for all 4 a 15thu saving. Had them a year and so far so good, evidently they are crap in the Snow but I'm learning to live with that.

A quick search showed that 8-9K sounds right for this size. The bridgestone all terrains are more expensive again.

 

Perhaps go to 17-18"? Change out the wheels but the tires will be cheaper. And cheaper in the long run when tyres need changing again.

Sadly these big diameter wheels tyres are expensive, don't know why as many have a similar overall diameter as smaller rims...Suppose some tech thingy...

Whatever set up you decide on look them up on the net first to see how they react to road conditions.

 

What you have to remember is it's your only contact some 5/5"? with the road so safety comes first.

 

Mr O M G P quote of 3/4 thu is way off the mark, might be ok on a Noddy Honda/Toyota car but not one with 19" wheels.

So you'll just have to pay up. Good game this big wheel lark. Thank Buddha you don't have the 20" size that they are fitting on some of the new MPV as they work out at some 15.000bt each.

sounds about right.. though they have some tyre shops that sell these really cheap... i can't find the link right now.. but it's usually promoted on facebook if you like enough car / repair pages...

 

tyres should last a good 4-6 years if cared for.. of course depending on how much you drive too... so if you can afford it.. get good tyres...

 

as an experiment.. i bought a set a thunderer / thai made... (shudders!!) tyres for my aunts honda freed... about a year or two ago.. surprisingly.. it's quite good... so far... i guess noisy as other brands.... also being made locally.. it was a very new batch of rubbers...
