webfact Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 #Fon Tok - Bangkok hash tag hits the top as capital drowns! Image: Thairath BANGKOK: -- The hashtag #fontok (rain) hit the top five on Twitter last night as Bangkok drowned! Residents especially in the northern part of the city posted video and pictures of the inundation caused by exceptionally heavy rain, reports Thairath. Things were particularly bad in Chaeng Wattana, Kaset, Viphawadee-Rangsit and Ngam Wong Wan. One video posted by Suraphop Srakaew showed a drain cover being lifted from its place as flood waters gushed below. Nnookknw in Rangsit showed what she said was a lightning strike on a railing. Twitter user yamjsx852 posted a picture of a place resembling a lake rather than a road. You needed to know where the road began and where the pavement ended to find your way around! But post popular in the share stakes was the Ferrari caught in a 600 meter stretch of flooded road on Ngam Wong Wan. Other top hashtags last night were #nam thuam (flood) and #thalee krung thep (Bangkok sea). Source: Thairath -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2016-10-04
Fookhaht Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 SHOCKING REVELATION: You can drown just as quickly in "water waiting to be drained" as in a honest-to-goodness flood!
impulse Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I think they're confusing "drowning" with "getting your feet wet".
elgordo38 Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 They spend the majority of tax dollars in Bangkok and still cannot fix the problem. Maybe time to abandon ship.
