Hi there!
We are considering buying the Ford Everest but just realized that it comes without GPS as there seems to be a licensing problem with Thailand. Has anyone managed to come up with a solution to get Thai maps on the (big) screen? Seems frustrating with such a big screen and no route maps. Any input?

Seems that to save monies they have not fitted a SYNC 3 set up. As J.T.B has stated the newer top of the range will now be fitted with same.

Enabling Sat Nav. and touch/pinch on an 8" screen. Nothing to do with license.

N/B Toyota has had the SYNC3 set up for well over 7 years Ford is still playing catch up.

If you go for the Ford you'll just have to wait. Or pay extra for a new set up once it's arrived.

Yes, MY 2017 has Sync 3 which uses your phone's satnav. Car makers have realised it's better to let people keep tech up to date in their phones rather than in the car. Shame the car I have was before this age of enlightenment.

Just paid Mirage a visit and they say they can interface with Android only and get Google maps on the car screen. Anyone has tried them?

I used Mirage for my March 16 Evetest. I have the Android interface & a GPS fitted. Both work a treat.

Mirage specialise in car audio, GPS and other car accessories. They seem to have a very god name in Thailand. They seemed very professional. I'm not sure how many branches they have but I went to one in Bangkok. If you have Sync 2 they can supply an interface which means you can project your phone's display onto the car's  8 inch display. Also they can install a GPS that also works through the car's display.

No one said Toyota were the greatest but they ain't half bad. My Spivo is over 7 years old now and I haven't even had to change a light bulb. Batteries yes but nothing else.

Now compare that with the new 3.2 Ford oil leaks, gearbox renewal and on new cars, no Sat Nav unless you go to the after sale market. All have been reported here.

Peeps can make up their own mind whats the greatest but it's not in my estimation the new Fords.
