Khon Kaen - Pillow - Duck Down - Where to take for cleaning ?

Does anyone know of a good place in Khon Kaen that cleans duck down pillows ?

I don't live in KK so the name of the place and directions would be useful.

I have been trying to find a new pillow  but all seem to be microfill.

I have high body electricity so static is a problem.

Thanks in advance.

I used nothing but pure down pillows for years, but mostly because I just enjoyed how nice they felt...  After replacing several over the first 10 years of living here in Isaan, the place I use to purchase at stopped selling / stocking them, so tried a couple of the new "Hi-Tech" fiber ones and found them evey bit as good as the Goose Down ones...  Try Index Living Mall on Hyway 2 just south of Khon Kaen...

Cleaning down pillows is super easy, just wash in cold water with regular detergent and then air dry in the direct Sun...  but after several washings they down starts to breakdown and is not comfortable as before...

Does earthing yourself not help any?

I had a mate with the same problem, he used a brake cable off a bicycle and earthed himself to a pipe with it.

I used to work in Saudi and Kuwait in the desert areas.  There were often dust or sand storms, and even when not the airs static charge was high.    I used to drive around the sites and constantly get out of the car, if I touched the metal door to close it in a few stops I would run down the battery.   The alternative was to wear gloves or close the door by pushing on the window.     Fortunately on many sites the buildings were of aluminium so not a problem.    I have seen sparks fly between my hand and my daughters before when standing on a nylon carpet.     One advantage, in my work, is that you can tell when a storm is coming from the electric tingling to the body.

Oh, it also helps with divining / dowsing, I use copper rods for this.

Thanks "Pianoman"  Have tried the touch test with the "Hi-Tech" fiber ones, still a problem.    Like yourself I shopped around in KK and even Bangkok briefly but all places seem to have stopped selling.    Maybe an upmarket shopping mall in Bangkok next time I am there, and yes, I know they are expensive.   Actually I tried to buy when I was in Brighton UK a few months ago, no luck.    Have washed pillow once previously but really don't want to water wash again.    Some countries some dry cleaner shops and send them on to special cleaners, never seen such a place here.      Fortunately good cotton blankets are available here.

I'm sure your story will be most beneficial to the OP re cleaning his pillows.

HomePro advertises this:

https://www.homepro.co.th/product/1030443?millis=1479441839771&lang=en

But I doubt it will be available at the shop in Khon Kaen.

Do you have Thai (speaking) people/family who can help with this site:

http://www.monstersleep.com/

I am confident they would ship.

HomePro - only 695 Baht for a goose down pillow ?   When a normal duck down is in the region of 2 - 3K at least ?   Seems too cheap, but thanks anyway.

You can wash duck down pillows in a washing machine on a delicate wash of 30-40 degrees no problem, you just have to dry them for a few days and better in direct sunlight as they can begin to rot otherwise and grow fungus on the outside.

Thanks "Wilted Flower of Scotland".   I will try in a machine near where I live.

Is a bigger machine better than a smaller one ?

Best to do early morning before mains water heats up.

At least plenty of sun this time of year.
