I'm looking into getting the same from Penang, Multi O based on marriage.

I have several non 0 multis already in my passport, the last from UK & Laos, to save a page in a getting full passport thought about going to Penang this time, a lot nearer from Phuket also. I am about to do my last 90 day entry tomorrow so will be need the visa mid Feb.

I have all the docs but my Thai bank will only have around 120-150k, the rest will be over 2 UK accounts. Jims place visa agent said yes its ok to use the uk bank he can get visa, but any emails sent after this he has not replied to, nor has the consulate directly. For the UK bank I will only have the online banking print outs, these only give my name and account number, so not very detailed, do you think this will be good enough? I don't want to book a flight and find there is a problem but would rather go to Penang over Savan if I can.

Thanks.

You need to bring original bank book.

Thanks, a bank book is pretty out dated now,  everything for my UK accounts is done online I don't think they use bank books anymore, even letters come by email. They will send paper statements on request to my UK address but by the time I get them and they are sent here they will be several weeks old.

I have a bank book for my Thai account only.

They will accept a print out your account according to earlier reports.

Am I missing the point re bank book? I thought the idea of going to Penang or other nearby consulates or embassies, was because we did not meet the 40,000 per month or 400,000 in the bank.

If you can't meet the 400,000 in a Thai account then the only nearby consulate for a multi non o is Savan-Laos to my knowledge

Penang will do a multi non o but you must show 400,000,  the advantage to this is that the money does not have to be in Thailand can be equivalent in an overseas account. Thai immigration would want to see 400,000 but must be in a Thai account only so If you have the 400,000 in a Thai account then most would do an annual extension, unless I suppose they did not want to deal with local immigration or they especially wanted a multi entry for some reason. For me its just I don't want 400,000 sitting in my Thai account.

Yes I'm in Phuket so would prefer to go to Penang if I can be sure my UK online bank print outs will be ok.. Been to Savan a couple of times before, ok if you add the visa into a holiday which we did once but a long way if you are just coming straight back.

Is this a new thing? Never been asked before, and I've 3 visas in my old passport. Always used the Banana GH service, last was 2014.

At first it was 100k baht when they started wanting financial proof then 200k baht and now 400k baht after they stopped doing them for awhile.

You might of gotten one the last ones with no financial proof.

One more thing please, what is the police order that states if my 12 month income exceeds 480000, that meets the income requirements?

From clause 2.18 of  Police Order 327/2557  basis for extension of stay.

Quote

(6) In the case of marriage to a Thai woman, the alien husband must earn an average
annual income of no less than Baht 40,000 per month or must have no less than Baht
400,000 in a bank account in Thailand for the past two months to cover expenses for
one year.

So if my bank statement shows a total of 480,000 paid in over 12 months, will Penang accept that?

I doubt it. They would want to see where the money is coming from. Perhaps get a income letter from your embassy if possible would be best.

Can anyone confirm recently getting a multi entry Non O based on having a Thai wife and using a non Thai acount to show the 400K Baht?

One agent has said yes no problem can show the print out from my UK online banking, another says No needs to be a Thai bank book. The consuate directly does not reply. (normally I would not use an agent but it only adds 70MYR  so worth it)

Going to book the flights for a trip in Feb in next few days, but would feel more confident to get some recent confirmation - Thank you.
