Right Angle Plug

Featured Replies

I am getting a TV mounted on a wall. The power socket is behind the TV.

I have a problem with thr supplied power cable. At the moment the flex comes straight out the back of the plug, which is not optimal as it means the TV has to be quite a way from the wall.

Is there a low profile right angle plug I can use instead?

I assume that you mean the plug that plugs into the wall socket not the TV. HACO plugs are right angle available in both two and three pin.  They are very sturdy.  I bought mine in the electrical section in Tesco in Chainat, cleaned out their stock the last visit.

+1 on the Haco P001 (2 pin) and P002 (3 pin), much sturdier than they look and look pretty OK too.

Both are polarised so you have to have the outlet the right way up, neutral on top (ground to the left).

Tesco certainly have them (unless Wayned got there first) also HomePro and probably the other DIY places.

I wanted one to go up the wall instead of down, so I used a two pin and a grinder on the neutral pin!

Yes, the only problem if you want to mount vertically up, same solution as mine with less brute force, I used a file.

My TV has a 2 pin plug and I could use one of those multipug things:-

The multiplug is no deeper than a regular right angle pug would be and by plugging the TV into the top or bottom slots the problem is solved.

Those Haco 3 pin plugs are really hard to find in Pattaya... I found a 2 pin version in Tesco  only had 2 in stock

but carried on searching and found the last 3 in stock at Homepro south Pattaya..they where the only 3 pin plug they had

all others where 2 pin !

Yeah John, they seem to go in and out of stock here in Rangsit too.

I grab a handful (of both 2 and 3 pin) whenever I see them so there are always some in stock, I don't fit anything else these days :)

Used exclusively in our home, I  normally buy the plugs with the pilot light, easy to establish if power is on or off.

I got something like this (without the cable) in HomePro for 30B. Seems fine and adopts any angle.

Our local Samsung TV came with a molded right angle plug (first time I have ever seen) so it must be a common issue.
