New phone ... talk about the best Android apps to load

EDS (Encrypted Data Store) for any data you want to remain secret, and for all those 'interesting' photos and videos you want to keep private.  It does require root, however, and is not free.

I used to use ColorNote, but now I am using Keep My Notes, which I personally like better.

Mobiwol no root firewall and Ad-Blocker.  Mobiwol controlls who can phone home and the ad-blocker (requires root) helps eliminate the ads that come with most free apps.

WhatsApp is a must have for me, and far better than Line.    XE Currency, QuickPic, and SuperBackup are all free and very good apps.  Add to that your bank's app.  Finally, Paiboon's ThaiDict (not free) is very good.
