Many get into the religion to escape going to jail here. The problem with this is that religion is used as a crutch for some to hide behind. The Catholics and Muslims also have those that have broken vows, and laws while hiding behind the religion.
I am on a retirement extension and have been for many years.
Jomtien is my local office and I do my own yearly extension and 90 day reports.
I have never had a problem with them, sure I have to go back the next day to pick up my passport, well boohoo.
I am retired and have all the time in the world to jump through the hoops once a year.
If you are from Europe, don't you wish your country had done this to migrants 50 years ago.
Thailand is protecting it's own people, good for them.
Stop complaining and treat it as a day out...
Of all the topics, this one is the strangest. I would've posted, "How to enjoy my life in Thailand while helping the poor and picking strawberries without a work permit." I hope the next one is not "How to avoid the death sentence".
My Thai wife was concerned about being unable to pay for my funeral. She has friends whose falang husbands turned alcoholic, drinking all their savings. She took out Life Insurance with www.ThaiLife.com. She also took out policies for her mother and uncle. Thai Life paid out promptly, without any arguments, when her mother recently passed away.
