Did the iphone survive ? I've seen so many, mostly women, glued to their iphones when crossing the road.

The body of the girl is back in Russia, motor bike driver charged, do we honestly believe anything will come of this one....?

Nothing will come of this and the rider will go on living thinking he has 'fast tracked' someone to be 'reincarnated' into something better. Whatever makes you sleep better...

Phuket, where the motor bike lane is the footpath and even that was blocked.

Yep, blame the victim.  More likely that the bike rider was on their iPhone and drunk as well.

I can make dumb comments too!

....horrific....was this even reported when it happened....???

...and no word about the driver...???

...gotta wonder....

both scenarios are possible, i cant see how one could be hit by a motorbike on a long straight road if you are paying attention to your surroundings.

Would be possible if e.g. motorbike was overtaking a tuktuk that had stopped to unload some passengers. Or she used a zebra crossing (there are few on that road) and presumed the bike would stop.

I see it on beach Rd Pattaya all the time as well, bike pops out behind tuk Tuk with riders head down low to minimize drag and throttle twisted to the maximum.. It's so sudden that if it happens you just got to not move in case you both go in the wrong direction.

I would go the " Allahu Akbar'" and take a punt on the virgins!

Coming from Russia, where they drive on the other side of the road, its possible that she was looking the wrong way for oncoming traffic.

Just a thought,

Poor woman, too young to die.

The trick is to read the FULL article-  "The driver, identified as Somsak Nom-Muang, 41, was charged with reckless driving causing death, Col Weerayut said. "
