It's not listed for 27th or films coming soon where I looked.  Just wondered if anyone seen anything else

That's the worldwide general release date, they only just screened the premiere. I'd look for it sometime early February here.

Sadly I remember little of the original other than I know I liked it, the was a scene I think with a man's head in a toilet, men on a train platform and a cracking soundtrack I often play.

I'd like to take my teenage kids to the new release. Any reason why not?

Surely would be heavily censored.. think I'll wait to see it as originally intended.

In terms of teenage kids - depends how streetwise they are,  how far they are into the teens, and how you want to prepare them for a world where lots of drugs exist. Would expect heavy normalisation of drug use at the very least.

It will be a challenge to beat the original "trainspotting"
Made on about 1.500.000 GBP, fresh (kinda), the ideas in the script I mean, and original.

Hope it will be a new storyline, not just a remake of a success.

Apparently it's partly based on Welsh's later book Porno, that revisited the characters with a different storyline. So definitely worth a look. Probably a wise choice to name the film Trainspotting 2!

Just wait a couple of weeks and download the uncensored torrent file.

I want the full cinema experience, then I'll watch it again via a download ... my understanding was that the international releases are February and March, not sure when it lands in Thailand.

Full cinema experience might not be the way to go here, they'd likely pixellate any subversive scenes or cut the whole thing up

Ewan mcgregor's making and one of the all time best, but Mcgregor manages to make me miss the middle and end of most films he stars in.zzzz

1st one was an 18 and rightly so given it was based on a bunch of smack heads and class A drug use was rife. 2nd one about a porn film I hear so tread carefully with teenagers I'd say.

I'm wondering how they'll do with the Thai subtitles ... Begbie's dialect will confuse every Thai.

I'd be willing to bet the writer and director had another name in mind but the producer, investors and distributor insisted on it.

I remember when "Trainspotting" was released in the US, another very hard core film based on the conflict in Northern Ireland was released about the same time.; sorry, the name escapes me.

The pair gave lot of US Anglophiles the harsh realization that life in the UK was not all "Upstairs:Downstairs".

Has this been shown in BKK yet? Still no news of it appearing in CM.

It's out in Europe now, I saw it two weeks ago. I'm not sure if it is guaranteed to show in Thailand, but I'd keep an eye out for it at the Maya Mall cinema. I saw the documentary "Amy" there a few years back, about Amy Winehouse ... it was on late at night on a limited run (like 3 days) ... T2 being a bit of a cult movie may get the same treatment.
