tot how bad can they get

i have had many different providers over the years  tot now for 6yrs

as the itvp  programs suited me there internet getting worse slowly over the years

going on off all the time 

the so called engineers come out its the box changed 3 times last 6 months

now its my computer they said

i have had that checked  ok

now realize whats going on

i pay for a private line and best itv program

the private tot contractors cut into your line and sell to other people  cheap

 my computer say conflict with other computers and company making boxes comes up

i am thinking going 3bb and iptv Thailand

 they are offering box 12 mths tv for 14000b  have many English channels 

anyone have them   cheers

i live in Chachoengsao and TOT works for google, twitter, thaivisa...but not for a huge number of sites like CNN or anything in Europe.

 

Tried to manually change the DNS but didn't help..

 

Anyone else having issues with TOT at the moment?

ToT FTTX in northern BKK, everything is working fine, CNN, BBC etc etc.

i dont under stand  why it was so good years ago

i pay 1600 b  mth never use the telephone 

what i can see is the same as some other providers what happens

years ago a true vision worker set me up dish box pay him half price 

then i wanted oz tv another man set dish and box to Vietnam tv pay him

i can see same happening in tot they are selling  or hacking your line to sell other people

i payed for a secure line then they overload it

you see on tvf buy this box or that box

i was a civil engineer and developer in life but and now dont understand this app or that app

give me a company that sells good english tv without problems

No I don't think that's what's happening at least it shouldn't happen and if it is then its not legal. ( well maybe legal under this regime)

 

Unless you are paying lots and lots of money for a "dedicated leased line"  then yes of course you are sharing with other people that's how it works everywhere since the end of the 56K modem,  digital

signals from a "bunch" of customers are bundled together and passed down a shared line and shared equipment it makes it efficient and cost effective for the telephone company and for the customer...remember when it used to cost 10,000 baht a month for a 512Kb ADSL line ?   now you can get  100Mb fibre optic line for 800 baht per month but you are still "sharing" with others.

So your computer has IP address conflicts  is it connected to the router/modem by LAN cable or by WiFi ?

today wife joined 3bb so as soon as they connect will cancel everything with tot 

i found out we were only getting 6 mgb payed for 10 on secure  line

today tot engineers came i told them wife was down at 3bb and would finish with tot tomorrow

one tot man said he needed to look at our computer

he was on the computer and his iPad in one hand  and taking stuff from computer to his iPad

what would he be doing for 10min was he stealing our information ?

If you have sensitive information on you computer why did you not watch very carefully over his shoulder what he was doing or better just tell him no access to the computer only let him access the modem/router ?
still I doubt he was stealing your information he could sit at the switching gear and listen to all traffic in privacy with very little chance of being caught and accused by angry farang

You connect to the internet the same way as everyone drives their car on the same roads. Sometimes there is lots of traffic. Its your car, and you drive to your destination. Other people drive there car on the same road to a different destination. You are sending or receiving a chunk of data through the network along with everyone else. IP addresses keep track of were the data is coming from or going to.

Its not actually possible for the technician to tap into your line and sell it. Thats like saying someone else is using your car when you are driving it.

The only way someone could be using your internet is if they are plugged into your router or connected to your wifi. An ip address conflict, as you describe, would indicate an incorrect setting or a fault in one of the devices connected to your router. Possibly what the technician was investigating.

as i was a builder and developer i am brainless on the new technology in computers

 the wife says every one around now going off tot to 3bb

tot probable was good 30 yrs ago when every one needed a telephone 

but they never advanced with the times

now why would you look at tot dont need a telephone 

and wife came home joined 3bb 

they give 30 mgb same price i have been paying for years for 10 mgb but got 6

the future of tot looks very grim

but my wife got someone  to come in today 

put a box on tv

have every news channel in world sports variety geo films

you name it its there  

about 1000 more than tot and cheap 

but pushed wrong button now don't know what to do 

these new fangly dangly gadgets suck some times
