PHUKET:-- Two Hungarian men died early yesterday morning (Jan 30) after the motorbike they were riding slammed into a roadside pole in Rawai.

Lt Col Sakkarin Sangjaroen of the Chalong Police was informed the accident at 2:40am.

Col Sakkarin identified the two men as Gabor Asztalos, 28, and his passenger Bence Edvin Banfi, 26.

“We were told that the men were heading towards Wiset Rd when Mr Asztalos lost control of the motorbike on the bend and crashed into the pylon,” Col Sakkarin told The Phuket News.

Great idea for the Europeans, rent a large motor bike while on holiday. Then wear no safety equipment, drink,go fast late at night in roads that they are unfamiliar with.Ah yes maybe get an Honorable mention in the Darwin's awards.

I want to know what standard the helmets were.......Most helmets I see here are not International standards....R.I.P.

Whilst I agree to a degree,  your sweeping statement isn't 100%the case.  Mine is a UK gold safety standard helmet that I would Never leave home without even for short journey.

I know a helmet does not guarantee survival but why not try and increase the odds in your favour
