Motorcycle wheel locked

Recommended Posts

Had a short bussing appointment at the Swiss embassy on Wireless Road whereby

I parked the motorcycle on the footpath in front of the embassy,

as there were nowhere else to park,

got out half hour later,  and the rear wheel is locked with a fine notice of a B. 1,000 to pay at

 the Lumpini police station,

I have been in BKK for 30 years and most of them riding a bike, never have I seen a locked

bike or a B. 1,000 fine for such offence, mind you, there were several moto taxi parking

on the footpath not far from me,

Cut a long story short, the cheap I went to see at the embassy and he called the cup

who came and removed the lock but I still have to pay the fine...

What's the world is coming to? locking bikes now and B. 1,000 fine ?

Wireless road is a bit of a hot spot. I drive down there most weekdays and I frequently see cars clamped.

I understand that a bike is different; I'm just pointing out the clampers are very active on that road.

I would never have the idea to park a motorcycle in front of an embassy, even if it's "only" the Swiss embassy.

Try again at the US or UK embassy (other side of the road).

Maybe bomb squad will dispose it

Lucky to escape with 1000 Baht.

I am not a Bangkok expert, just knowing this spot quite well.

Doesn't the mall/arcade at the corner have some motorcycle parking?

It's a 200m walk!

You haven't been following the news, have you?

What's the world coming to when people who ride their motorbikes on the pavement and then obstruct it by parking there complain about it as though their desire to walk as short a distance as possible overrides pedestrian's rights to the pavement.

I've even seen them towing away motocy's with a big towtruck.

And last weekend several cars got a wheelclamp at a park next to the river...

It's GOOD! You shouldn't park on the sidewalk and you know that dam well. I thought swissies were hi-so people?

Finally the police is doing something and immediatly the farang are crying :passifier:
