Looking for schools for 5 year old girl in Chiang Rai?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

I am doing some research for schools in Chiang Rai. My partner has a 5 year old child, half French, half Thai...at the moment speaks good french and Thai, but very little English, although she seems to understand everything I say!

I am just weighing up options, because the local schools where we live 30 mins away are pretty terrible, and she won't learn any English at all.

Has anyone got any info, I know there is an international school, a montesorri school and possibly others. If anyone can give any insight on the quality of education, and fees etc that would be great. It's nice to hear from peoples experience rather than just the schools themselves

thanks

Good luck

Best if you guys speak to her in French and English.

Hi

Thanks for the reply. I think the international school looks out of our price range.  Does anyone have any experience of the Montesori  school?  Our main incentive is that she learns to speak english.

We are considering going to live in England with my family for a year or so, just so she could pick up english. But I wonder if she would pick it up ok at the montessouri school, as they speak english there. Thanks for the help, if anyone else knows more I'd appreciate hearing your experiences

i suspect a year or so in england will result in a good idea

Santi Vithaya School (the RC school) has an English Programme (they call it "gifted") at primary level. Most subjects are taught in English. PM me if you want to know more - disclaimer I work there...

My niece went to MariRuc

very pleased with it.  got grade points of 4.0 and is now getting 3.5 s to 4 at a good English program high school. religeon is not stuffed down their throats.

they really treated the kids as individuals there.
