How much success have you had in installing your iPod in your car? Using a FM transmitter?

There are a heap of FM stations in LOS - much more than the UK - there is virtually one on every frequency - I found by removing the car ariel that I got much better reception.

That is a great idea. I mean it. In the US I get great reception using the iPod and the FM transmitter. But here it has been iffy. I shall try that....my aerial unscrews easily. Thanks.

Hey Corkscrew - how did that work?

Another thing I do is fold up a till receipt and slip it down the side of the i-pod and the dock - I find that with the crappy roads here the i-pod bounces around a bit - which can seem a little like interference. I could just buy a new dock - but the cheap fix-its appeal to my Aberdonian nature!

EDIT: You now have to leave your aerial in your garage/house - every time your car is valeted they stick the bloody thing back on!!

I'm not having much luck finding open frequencies either. Best one for me so far is 104.0 MHz, but every now and then, some station pops up out of nowhere and used that freq. play a bunch of really bad music for a while and then disappears again.

By the way, I picked up one of these in Kuala Lumpur last week, but haven't seen them anywhere here in BKK. Really does a nice job of charging and FM transmitting your iPod, while at the same time putting it in a good location where it won't go sliding around.

No problems in Bangkok listening to my Sony Ericsson w800i in the car with cheap FM transmitter. Always 100% clarity at 107.9fm. Effective for only 250 Baht! My Vigo came with only cassette deck as requested from the factory.

Only a temporary measure anyway as the DVD audio system is going in soon with double din TV in the dash.

How many songs does a w800 hold?

There are several Car CD Players with a mini jack imput on the front, like Panasonic. So it is better to use a jack audio cable to connect the ipod instead of a FM transmitter. Quality of sound is much better.
