Portable Soil Compactor

Featured Replies

I need to hire a petrol or electric driven soil compactor, to compact the soil before a concrete slab pour. Anyone know where I can get one? I live in the Kuchinari area.

I had to delete it as I misunderstood your post.

You want to hire!

That really needs local knowledge.

I guess you will need to find a construction company and hire on "contract" incl. a one man workforce or so.

I doubt they will hire for DIY.

All I did was searching for such a device in Thai language:

https://www.google.co.th/search?q=เครื่อง+ตบ+ดิน&client=firefox-b&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwii7Lz72onSAhUMs48KHTINCbYQsAQIGQ&biw=1280&bih=883

(you find the Thai term in the search box)

Prices for buying are in the 20k range for small devices.

I've rented a  Marton brand walk behind soil compactor which has a Honda petrol engine at a Buriram Builders merchants. I paid 500 baht a day and I picked up the machine at the ready mixed concrete office of this Buriram Isaan construction supply business. I used it for two days and returned it and gladly paid one thousand baht plus the fuel. It might be too far for the OP, but certainly must be other progressive businesses that sell such machines will also rent such soil compactors or wacker packers in Thailand.

Thanks David B. I'll have an ask around. Already borrowing a concrete vibrator from the CPAC contractor, maybe ask him again for someone who can rent a wacker . B 500 day seems good value.

If I can't get one here may have to trip to Burriram.
