Just go to the Bus Station on Pattaya North Road and board the Bus to the Southern Bus Station.

Change buses there to one going to Hua Hin.

It is not complicated.

he can do it that way but that would be inconvenient.

There are two different services from PTY to HH that go direct.

One is under the BELL TRAVEL brand and the other one just a regular VIP Bus. Both Buses leave from the Northern Bus station and are operated by ROONG REUANG COACH (who operates under the BELL brand too).

The difference seems to be that if you use the BELL Bus, they will pick you up from your accommodation and send you to your accommodation at the destination as well. The regular VIP Bus just goes from Bus station to Bus station, but at 387 Baht, it is significantly cheaper. The Bell Bus seems to cost almost double that.

The regular VIP Bus leaves once daily around 10.30 / 11 am from Pattaya North station, and the BELL Bus seems to leave around the same time. The regular VIP Bus makes a stop at Suvarnabhumi.  But to find out about details, I would strongly recommend to go there in person and inquire, or let a Thai speaker call ROONG REUANG COACH.

Another option would be to take a mini van from Pattaya to the Victory Monument in Bangkok. At the Victory Monument, you can take another mini van to Hua Hin.  I did this a few years ago and it was pretty fast and economical.  I don't know what the current prices are, but you could find current information with an Internet search engine.

I have no doubt that it was "pretty fast".

Unfortunately, way too many do not make it to their destination at all using those Minivans and rather ended up at a crematory (and in several recent cases the Minivan was the crematory itself) just because it was "pretty fast", and probably because the driver had one red bull bottle too many or swallowed one of those funny coloured pills too many while "delivering" the lost souls to what was meant to be their destination.

Nobody who values his/her life, and one can not emphasize this often enough,  should ever board such a Minivan unless it is an emergency or absolutely no other option available. And there is a reason why the government wants to GET RID OF THEM ALL (not that I believe it will happen)

It does appear that mini-vans are going by the way side. You can no longer get a mini-van from Victory Monument to Pattaya.

My suggestion is to take the Bell luxury bus. It is direct to Hua Hin and they give you a bottle of water. There is a clean toilet on board but if memory serves me, they don't have wifi. The luxury bus has 3 seats across (2,1) so it is easy to get a single seat if you are solo. They have comfortable wide seats that recline and have a leg rest that pops up. highly recommended. They also have good drivers.

So, no explanation of why it is inconvenient ?

And how it compares to your advice ?

And all the other passengers on the bus.

Let's hope you don't get picked up first or dropped off last.

Something that hasn't been mentioned is the ferry which takes less than 2 hours and through Feb 2017 is 999thb, then 1250thb after that. Twice the price of the direct bus (5-6 hours).

I haven't used the Pattaya-Hua Hin direct bus in about five months now, but I used to used it on a regular basis about once per month and Bell Travel did NOT pickup/drop-off from Pattaya/Jomtien hotels & condos like they do for the Pattaya-Suvarnabhumi buses.  Has that changed?

I just tried to make a dummy booking online for the Pattaya-Hua Hin direct bus and there was no option to select a pick-up point, only the option for the bus station on Pattaya Nua.  (Clicking on the "..." on the "Pick-up location" line only lists "Pattaya Bus Terminal."

I also tried a dummy booking for Pattaya-Suvarnabhumi and there IS an option to specify a pick-up point.  (Clicking on the "..." on the "Pick-up location" line results in a scrollable and searchable list of hotels/condos.)

How do you arrange a hotel/condo pick-up/drop-off for the Pattaya-Hua Hin direct bus with Bell Travel?

Posted (edited)

I did some research and apparently there is no pick-up or drop-off in Pattaya outside of the north bus terminal. In Hua Hin there are two pick up points: 1) the RRC bus station located next to Hua Hin Post Office (Secondary) near Hua Hin Airport  (effective Jan 11, 2017) and 2) the Bus Stop in front of Government Savings Bank at Cha-am Intersection.

In Hua Hin the drop-off points are the two listed above in addition to 81 hotels, however there is an additional 100THB fee for the hotel drop-off. This can be arranged online during booking or in person at the bus station.

Lastly, the price for the direct bus is listed as 389 THB plus 50 THB online reservation fee. Departure time is 11am daily from either location.

That Ferry has been averaging nearer 3 hours than 2 hours since it started.

Plus it now berths at Khao Takiab, how much cost and time does that add ?

Add in the problems they have had with weather, and the amount of passengers being affected badly with seasickness, and I don't see it being an alternative yet.

Happy ending with Bell Travel Service in Pattaya this week. I am in my 70s and went into their cool office waiting for my friend to arrive from the airport. The lady at the desk asked if she can help me. I informed her I was waiting for a friend but suddenly she began shouting questions loudly at me across the room. Very unnecessary and I'm sure this would not have happened if I was wearing a business suit instead of shorts/tshirt/trainers. A young man had a polite word with her in Thai. I could hear her arguing back to him but eventually she came over to me and apologized.
