Classic car show in Pattaya

I've seen an ad for the classic car show in Pattaya in March.  http://www.show.classic-car-friends-pattaya.com/  and  http://www.pattayamail.com/pattayasports/pattaya-revs-2nd-classic-car-show-162674  Has anyone been before who can tell me what it's like?  Is it worth traveling from Bangkok and staying overnight for (show on Saturday, parade on Sunday)?

For the record, I'm interested in looking and drooling, not buying/selling or having long technical discussions (the latter two, for which a small show would probably be fine).  I'm not sure how large to expect it to be... if it's ten cars in a parking lot, I probably wouldn't come for it, but if it's well-sized and could take a few hours to look around, it might make a fun trip.  It sounds like they'll have a fair number of cars to see, but I've also been disappointed in the past by events that are advertised as being more than they turn out to be...

Thanks!

I went to have a look around this show today and was refused entry by the less than polite security guard, he said no stay hotel, no see show. So apparently you have to be staying at this hotel to see the car show, I didn't see this as a stipulation to view it on the advertisement, what a crazy way to run a vintage car show.

Perhaps a misunderstanding

It is part of a charity event , barbecue in the evening..

In the afternoon it was free....but near the evening you had to buy ticket for barbecue and show , keep in mind it was organised as a fund raiser..Guess today you can visit for free again in day time

Always go up the chain of command. The security guard has an employer and you have a proof of purchase. Resolved in under 5 minutes.

Saw the cars drive by Dolphin Roundabout today at around 10.30 on their way to Beach Road. Very impressive. Sods law took effect as 5 minutes later the heavens opened.

I went there last Saturday and the guard was pleasant and helpful with my parking.

There were many Euro's there along with some Asian stuff and a few examples of Detroit iron.

Same here.  We also had to pay for entry on Saturday afternoon, but expected that.  Having the tickets still in my pocket got us in on Sunday at parade time, too-- we got to watch everyone pull out and then have a second look over the cars that were left.  It was a fun show.  I'm glad I went.  (For the record-- we didn't stay at the Asia Pattaya, either.  They were sold out by the time I went to book.  I chose the Birds and Bees since it was right next door.  No one asked where we were staying when we got to the show.)

Some great pictures, everyone!
