Stargeezr
If this groom fired real bullets from the rifles, then he should be charged, plain and simple in most parts of the world, just not in Thailand, apparently. Shooting into the air is just stupid! The groom needs to get some real balls, and admit, to what he did with those assualt rifles. Geezer

webfact
Five men sent to Court for detention over celebratory shooting that killed a passerby CHONBURI: -- Chonburi police will escort five suspects who fired celebratory shots during a wedding procession but accidentally killed a passerby to Pattaya Provincial Court for detention. The five suspects were friends of the groom who joined the wedding procession to the house of the bride but drew out their pistols to shoot into the air and the ground as they walked. The incident happened last Sunday in Bang Lamung district. They turned themselves in to the police after one man, Thanet Inthrawong, was struck by a random shot which killed him instantly. But police said another group of the bride’s friends also fired celebratory shots during the wedding procession. They still do not turn themselves in to the police and hand over their pistols for forensic check. Pol Col Anan Phu-rahong, the superintendent of the Huay Yai police station in Bang Lamung district who is charge of the case, said the police would initially impose three charges against the five. Having firearms in possession without licences, carrying firearms into public place without permits, and shooting in public places, he said. He said police investigators have managed to identify the actual weapon that killed Thanet from autopsy results which indicate that he was killed by a 9 mm pistol. He said the police would reject them temporary release on bail. The wedding procession appeared in several video clips that were posted on YouTube and went viral on the social media criticising strongly the celebratory shooting by men in the wedding procession. Mitker
I'm just wondering (technical question): Ok. What goes up must go done; agreed. But at what speed? A bullet from a vertical gunshot is propelled at high speed by the cartridge powder explosion. It then progressively loose its ascending speed due to gravity and air friction until it stops at a certain height and starts its descend in a free fall only. The 2 former forces will now work in opposite direction, with the air resistance increasing with speed until both are balanced at a speed that will depend on the bullet aerodynamics. Any idea of what that speed would be? I'm just surprised that it would be sufficient to kill somebody on the spot sorry if this question comes too early before the happy hour... roo860
You might get a nasty bump or bruise from "falling" bullet, not death!!! Just another fake news story!!It depends on the trajectory of the bullet, if fired from a low angle it could very easily hit someone. So not so fake news.Sent from my SM-G920F using Thaivisa Connect mobile app

rgraham
More likely a shot into the ground than straight up in the air, never fire a weapon at something you do not want to hit, including no target at all.

HaleySabai
Where's the guns...only firecrackers and the usual procession march of the Groom to the Bride's house. When I see videos of Islamic-maniacs blowing off a magazine of rounds into the air, in the name of Alla,I have wonder where those rounds eventually land.
