Tourist Visa Extension

Featured Replies

Just wondering if it's a good idea to go to immigration the day before my tourist visa expires, or if I could go on the actual day it does expire (to get the 30-day extension). Any thoughts?

I have a TM 7 form. What else is required?

It is always a good idea to go a few days early in case of problems.

Thanks. I've left it rather late so the earliest I can go is the day before. So still a bit of time in case of any problems.

it extends from the termination date, not the date you go in.

Yes I knew that, I was just wondering what date would be best to go in. The expiry/termination date or before. I know they must process thousands of these daily but I think with immigration it can sometimes be unknown.

Definitely better to go before if there's a choice. They tend to accept everyone who shows up and gets a queue ticket on the same day anyway (final time to roll up is around 3pm I think) but nothing to be lost by going on earlier days.
