A good friend of mine is coming from the US for a visit, so I'm getting ready for a Thailand tour. I dug out my old Acer laptop and made sure everything was up to date and working. I had forgotten just how heavy and bulky it is.  I really wasn't looking forward to carrying that heavy old thing all over the country so I researched tablets. I decided that a 7 inch is too small and a 10 inch is too big. I really didn't want too expensive of a tablet. Since the Huawei MediaPad M3 is 8.4 inches, I thought that would be the perfect size. I went ahead and ordered it. It cost more than I wanted to spend but what the hell. I bought exactly what I wanted. It is Android 6,  WiFi, has a decent camera and is 4G for making calls if needed. I liked the 4G for one basic simple reason. I can top up Internet packages without removing the SIM card. It will be delivered next week.

Does anyone have one of these tablets and if so, how do you like it?

I have the M3, a great tablet, perfect size 8.4 ins. Mine came with a nice cover and good headphones, for under 11,000, which is way cheaper than say a Samsung or Apple. You will love it, very good quality.

Thanks for that comment. Mine comes with an OEM cover and the AKG ear phones.

Just curious why a 10 inch is to big?
An 8 inch won't fit in your pocket comfortably.
I use a man bag to carry 10 inch and other important stuff.
The larger the better once over 7 inch IMO only

I once had a 10 inch Pipo and found it uncomfortable to hold and too heavy. My wife's nephew dropped the tablet and that was the end of it. Of course he didn't drop it and neither did my wife. :shock1:

ADDED - The screen must have cracked by itself or maybe a ghost did it.

I bought the M3 recently for 11 000 in tukcom pattaya and it is really worth it. The sound is really clear and powerful, the battery lasts long, about 10 hours. If I had to do it I would buy it again. One negative point though it's quite heavy.

I have had mine since Monday and I have it setup the way I like it. It is a remarkable  gadget. It has a better display and is faster with much better sound than my friend's iPad. I agree that it is quite heavy for a relatively small device. The OEM cover is handy for sitting it up and the touchscreen is sensitive enough so it can sit in front of me and I don't have to hold it. I was disappointed with the Hisuit. I found that there is no music transfer box. I have to turn off Hisuit and just use the computer to drag and drop. Not a big problem but there should be a way to transfer music more easily with that program. Pictures and videos transfer great with Hisuit but no option for music or audio.

I Googled about the Hisuit limitation and found a free program called Syncios that will let you transfer music to your SD card. I just put 362 songs on my SD card.

The MP3 user interface seems a little glitchy so I downloaded and installed the Google Now launcher from Playstore. I can't find any other things to complain about. I'm very happy with the device.

I agree about the size, around 8" is about right, had a 10" tablet before I and think it was too big, even at home, too much screen to "finger" around on.

11k baht in Tukcom eh, hmm the old iPad mini2 is now around 9300 and the new Mini4 is around 12k baht.

I have a Mini2 and are quite happy with it, the screen is very good. The problem is that my 7year old son is using it now, so I might have to get another tablet.

Still not sure which to get, Mini4 or MP3? The quality of the Mini's are without a doubt very good, my friend has 3 mini's 2, 2 for his kids and 1 for himself and they seen heavy use for 2-3 years now and never gave any problems.

just make sure it has Gorilla glass  and if its Android it had Google Play Store installed ,

the cheap Chinese tablets do  not have the Gorilla glass and seem to crack easier

Why I chose the Mediapad M3;

It has 4 GB RAM and standard 32 GB storage plus the memory card.

It has either two SIM cards or one SIM and a memory card.

The screen is 1600X2560 pixels.

Great sound from Harman  Kardon  top and bottom stereo speakers.

I can make phone calls if needed but most important is that since I have prepaid I can top up my Internet without removing the SIM card.

Maybe best of all, I have Google Play and don't have to have the Apple blessing to install apps not to mention the horrible iTunes. I have an iPod and working with Apple iTunes has been a genuine pain. I have an eighteen dollar MP3 player that actually works better than the iPod because it has speakers.

A bit off topic, BUT....

I think I paid more than 4,000 baht for the iPod. I quit the Audible book club so I no longer needed the iPod. There is a small computer shop near here. They have thousands of Thai songs that they put on various devices. I gave her the iPod and she took  it to that shop. She said the guy fiddled with it for a while and handed it back to her. He told her that he could not put music on it for her. I bought a small MP3 player for about 620 baht and no problem. I don't think she goes anywhere without that gadget. The tiny little speaker actually sounds pretty good. She rarely bothers with the ear buds. Very good battery life also.

I can also grab and drop music or books from my computer to the M3 tablet.
