TAT to promote Thai fried mussels on Khaosan road

BANGKOK, 27 March 2017 (NNT) – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is to promote Thai fried mussels before the start of the Songkran Festival, after Thailand was named the country with the best street food in the world.

TAT Governor Yutthasak Suphasorn disclosed today that the TAT is preparing a plan to stimulate tourism during the low-season by promoting fried mussels as one of the dishes in the Thai Famous Street Food Project from 31st March - 2nd April, ahead of the Songkran Festival on the world-famous Khaosan road.

Twenty selected famous fried mussel restaurants will set up booths on Khaosan road, and the TAT will promote the fried mussels as part of the Thai Food Fest Project by presenting the history of fried mussels and the cooking process involved.

The TAT Governor went on to say that fried mussels are one of the cuisines being promoted in the Thai Street Food Project, which the TAT has given new importance to after Thailand was named the country with the best street food in the world.

Not only the mussels are tiny but they also are stored in warm water. Bad mussels can make you very sick, even my Thai friends have been sick from eating those so i'll pass on them.
