Friend returning with unpaid traffic fine

I've a friend returning to Thailand with an unpaid traffic fine for not carrying his license from 12 months ago. Will he be hassled at the airport?

The missing response fits my opinion.

In so many years here in the forum or from conversations I never heard anything indicating such event.

Normal traffic fines (without court appearance etc.) are way off from triggering any search warrant/blacklist or the like.

Millions of traffic fines are unpaid/ignored by Thai people.

The normal procedure is, that they have to pay before being able to renew driving license or register/insure vehicle.

Unless a Court warrant was issued for his arrest, which is extremely doubtful for what should have been no more than a 200 baht fine, he shouldn't have a problem.

 

It might be a good idea to clear the fine on his arrival though.

thanks for the replies guys, its a 2000b fine that he'd happily pay on his return but just doesn't want it to be a big issue . He was stupid enough to leave the money with a bargirl to pay I have since found out by running into her

it is what it is mate. My Thai wife and I were walking down a soi and she spotted us and come running out to say hello. If that's not running into her please help me out with the proper definition
