Just discovered this great little market so thought I would share.

Mae Jo Uni runs an organic market inside the Uni grounds on Fridays and Saturdays (9am-5pm). Organic fruit, vegetables, rice, coffee etc... at cheap prices. Bought some organic rice for 60baht a kilo... they have loads of varieties. Much cheaper than RimPing. Prices for everything are super cheap.

Nice Lanna style atmosphere with wooden tables, umbrellas, northern music, hay bales.

If you like your organic fruit and veg, defo worth coming to check it out.

Go through the main Uni entrance on the road from Chiang Mai... it's a little way up on your right.

Enjoy.

Glad to hear Royal Project CMU has more competition.  Maybe the clerks can stop being so impolite.  Good luck to MJU, "Home of Cowboy.". I almost bought a condo out there several years ago...could have done way worse, that is for certain.

Thanks for sharing!

It's a bit far but I will visit there someday.

Is there a similar event in CMU?

Yes there is meat. Organic fish, pork, chicken and eggs.

Don't know if CMU do anything similar. Mae Jo Uni has a farm attached and teaches organic farming, so that's where the products come from

Which condo near MJU is good for investment to rent out to the students?

I was looking at Maejo Mansion...not a good investment, IMO, but you could do way worse, as stated.   There was long thread about produce a few weeks ago...detailing Royal Projects...give it a read.  Save time, money, and get better quality.

That's very interesting, I didn't know they sold organic fish.

I live near there and shopped there this weekend.

As I'm starting my own fish farm and would hope to do organic I'd like to know more.

Anyone know anything else on the subject?
