A scene from the Bangkok City Library on Friday

BANGKOK — Less than 24 hours after opening with much fanfare, Bangkok’s largest public library shut its door and will not open again for three weeks.

In a statement posted online, the Bangkok City Library said it needs to prepare its facility to host a royal visit by Princess Sirindhorn, who will attend the library’s formal opening ceremony on April 28.

“Therefore, we only operated a system test only for one day, on April 7, 2017,” the statement said Friday evening.

You'd think they would have someone working in the library who could speak English. That magazine rack should read "MAGAZINES", not "MAGAZINE", as it's clear that they have more than one of them.

The book fair in Q. Sirikit Convention Center today was packed, thousands of people, mostly young folks. Quite an encouraging experience.

The budget only allowed for eight letters.

Maybe if you showed up with your Hello kitty number plate they would give a discount on the latest Hello Kitty mag.
