airport transport

Featured Replies

Could anyone tell me the best way to get from the airport to my guest house in the old part of town, please?

I will have a bike box with me, so normal taxi won't work!

Thanks.

Airport taxis are waiting to go but if you see a songtaeow roll past or even a tuk tuk,  it could be much cheaper and just as fast .

There is a counter inside and outside of the domestic luggage pickup that will sell you a ticket for a taxi, costs 180 baht and will take you anywhere in the city. Usually no waiting.

Walk outside after collecting your bike box and on the left side there will be a girl usually ready to book you a SUV to your guesthouse. 200 Baht all in. As perviously noted 99% of the vehicles are full sized SUV'S and will easily accomodate a bike box.

You do pay extra for a bike above the normal passenger with suitcases charge. I can't remember exactly what they quoted me. Just meters away from the taxis are are all the songtaews and tuk tuks leaving the airport after dropping people off. Most will take you to the old city for less than 100 baht. One old fella took me to Chiang Mai gate for 30 baht recently but 50 to 100 baht would be the normal range. You will be on your way within minutes of walking outside the terminal.
