A huge police raid mounted by 191 police in the Din Daeng area failed to turn up a single piece of evidence.

Officers from 191 led by chief Surachet Hakpan - who has the nickname Joke (rice gruel) - and tourist police descended on buildings 33 to 36 known as the Din Daeng flats in the Pracha Sonkhro area of the capital.

But despite more than 150 cops being involved and 320 rooms being searched nothing illegal was discovered.

The raid, the fourth big one in the last month mounted by the force, came after reports of young people doing drugs in the area.

However, a handful of guns and other evidence was found in some other parts of the city enabling a photo opportunity for the 191 force and others at their HQ in Viphawadee Rangsit road yesterday.

..proud professionals on the move... putting the kiddies on notice...

Probably more disappointed about them all not being on a 'successful' photo shoot, than catching any criminals !

That would surely have been a contender for 'photo of the year' !

No celebrations at the porridge station then.

Not sure but were they tipped off by the media or someone prior to the raid ! No wonder they want the media silenced !hmmm

Yes what a joke   :cheesy:

The policeman who was getting protection money from the criminals tipped them off.

They searched 320 rooms? And how exactly did they get 320 search warrants? My guess is that they didn't and just bullied their way in, with total disrespect for the law.

And found nothing!!:cheesy:

It's what happens when you overdo things, something will go wrong, in this case they forgot to bring along the evidence to plant.

Give Joke another medal anyway, because someone else found a gun somewhere else.

They don't need search warrants here then, or were they authorised?

At least they got the photo op

just not the same as if they can abuse a suspects human rights and parade them in front of some cameras. good they were able to find some hand guns to substitute at short notice. harder to abuse the the rights of guns.

I wonder too.
Is the inviolability of the house or the home impaired?

I'd say the statistical probability in that part of town of checking 320 different rooms and finding NO illegal contraband is probably about 1 in 900 million gazillion.  This is, after all, Thailand.

Kind of makes you wonder what they were actually doing out there.

Amazing Thailand,,, Search warrants 3 hours,,, arrest warrants 5 years

Joke 555 suits him well
