(Hillary Clinton said you could "put half of Trump supporters in what I call a basket of deplorables")

She was half correct.

And, she was more than half stupid.  Whoever she or you think are 'deplorables' have a vote, just like you  think you are smarter, moral, and know more than others. She was also a intolerable candidate and a suffer to watch and hear.  Bazille was right-on crystal, Biden would have beat Trump, but her entire campaign was deplorable.

Ad running in the US networks calling for Trump;s impeachment

The absurdity of a petition call for Trump's impeachment is obviously the domain of the ignorant, uneducated, and the just plain stupid.

There must be legitimate grounds, not just a petition of lefties who voted for the losing side, and feel aggrieved.   Genuine grounds for impeachment are necessary before the process can continue.

Never mind, probably lost on those who advocate for a petition.

It's not just " lefties" signing a petition like this.  Ridiculous comment to make. Terrible words to describe others.  Terrible.

That's pretty rich coming from a man-child supporter, who's base voter isn't exactly lighting up the night sky!:cheesy:

You’re right. Votes like these are a waste. Citizens choosing to waste their time at no cost to the public purse to relieve some frustration is one thing tough. Public officials wasting public time and public money on pointless votes is quite another.

No doubt therefore that you were equally scathing in these forums when GOP lawmakers voted seventy times over seven years to repeal Obamacare knowing full well their efforts would lead to bupkis.

If you could kindly point us to some of those scathing posts of yours, that’d be just dandy, thanks.

First do you even know what impeachment means ?  I suggest you google it. .

Clinton was impeached for far less less.   The grounds are there, what stands between Trump and impeachment is a Republican Congress. This petition is preparation for 2018 where you can bet it will be an Issue. Assuming Trump is still in office.

well it's all about balance in life isn't it as "The absurdity of promoting a call for Trump to become POTUS was also  obviously the domain of the ignorant, uneducated, and the just plain stupid." Ying and Yang!

How informed, educated and smart is it to think that Trump is fit to govern?  The majority of Americans don't think so.  Enact the 25th on the 45th.

And that seems less plausible to you than the beliefs of other theist religions?

Not at all, they are all tin foil hat wearers.

Right, and given that no presidential candidate has ever claimed to be an avowed atheist or even agnostic as far as I know, why single out one for vitriolic criticism of their religion of choice over another? Answer: because it serves a political agenda and has nothing at all to do with the candidate themself. It is ironic though that it was the party of diversity and inclusiveness that chose to act in this manner.

Another straw man.  You missed the point and tried to make hay with it.  Some beliefs are more absurd than others and that is what Adaman Al is pointing out.  And you don't know what vitriol means.

Oh I think I got the point. Even though they have no belief in God some people believe it is more credible for the fictitious God to have delivered his commandmants to his prophet on Mount Sinai than in Upstate New York. Got it.  BTW, I have a chemistry minor, so I know what vitriol means, both scientifically and otherwise. You know, making Christopher Hitchins your avatar doesn't make you a genius anymore than my picture of a Pointer puppy makes me a dog.

Better or worse than describing the a large percentage of the voting public as "the deplorables"?, an election losing strategy if ever there was one!!!   Now that WAS ridiculous.

We're off topic again, but let me say that the term "deplorables" was directed at those Trump supporters who showed contempt for the rule of law, spewing nothing but a rage of hate and the most foul vitriol imaginable toward Hillary.  I don't think she went far enough in labeling them as such.  After all, being accused of running a child sex ring and having it peddled by right wing propaganda mills is not deplorable.  It's blasphemous and criminal.

Btw, you can have your deplorable votes.  I wouldn't want their support in any way.  It didn't matter in November of 2016 and it won't matter in November of 2018.

Don't comment much on Trump anymore But Virginia is a Democrat hold. And at a conference in SK he again made the ridiculous statement about more would have died if a man in the church didn't have a gun to kill the killer, even for Trump that's a stretch

Trump makes George W Bush look like a rocket scientist. I never thought the US could produce anyone more rock dumb than Bush. Even Homer Simpson looks quite the academic compared to 45.

Donald Trump was the big loser in Virginia

The race for Virginia governor on Tuesday night wasn't very close. And Republicans have Donald Trump to blame for it.

In key areas of Virginia Republicanism -- the suburbs of Richmond and the exurbs of Washington, DC -- Republican Ed Gillespie ran far behind recent past GOP gubernatorial nominees and even behind Trump himself.

MAGA! LOL

What's even more significant is that Republicans have lost a lot of seats in the House of Delegates despite the fact that they massively gerrymandered the districts to favor Republicans. Also, Northam did much better than the polls predicted on average. Damn lying right wing pollsters!

Trump sometimes forgets who his audience is.  When he talks to his base, he can say the most insane, idiotic things and they'll give him a standing ovation.  But everyone else?  Not so much.

Some of the people supported Trump *despite* his obvious race-baiting, misogynistic comments and Islamophobia. Others *because* of it.

How would one describe people like those?

but here’s the thing, Trump actually thinks his supporters are worse than deplorable, he thinks they’re both dumb and deplorable.

WaPo has Dem gain in VA House of Delegates at 14 with 4 close enough to require recounts.  They need 17 to flip the House, which is still on the table.  This is a major upset for the Rs.

It's also important that the Dem candidate for Atty Gen in VA won since he is one of the state AGs with jurisdiction to charge Manafort on state charges that would be beyond the reach of a Trump pardon.

Is that so?  This includes all the other folks that the Special Counsel plans to indict?  That would be a huge blow to the Trumpster and all his criminal buddies.

Manafort owns a house in VA.  I don't know if his tax domicile is VA, NY, or somewhere else, but since he evaded federal income tax on his foreign payments from dictators he certainly evaded state income tax in some state if the AG of that state is inclined to indict him.  Beyond state income tax evasion some of the financial crimes he has committed are likely to have ocurred in NY, whose AG is an ambitious Dem.

So, others in the Trump criminal enterprise may have criminal liabilities in VA or other states, but not necessarily all of them
