tires ford focus 2.0

Featured Replies

I just got an 18.900 bt quote from the ford garage for new tires.. seasons something. Just curious what are good tires for a ford focus and what kind of prices should i think about.

My Ford Focus came with Goodyear tires. Two out of four got bulges in the sidewalls and I replaced them with Maxxis. I then replaced the other two with Deestone after one of the the two Goodyears went flat. After a year or so, they have been fine. 18,900 for a set of tires sounds way too high. I would have bought two more Maxxis but a shop where I broke down didn't have Maxxis.

Either Maxxis or Deestone will cost about half of what Ford wants. I don't remember for sure but I think both brands were about 2,500 each.

Just go to somewhere like B-Quick ... they have quite a selection ...you can actually google their site.

They will try and sell you their most expensive tyres ... even then they will be considerably less than Fords quote.

My wife replaced her tyres with Miichelins at about 50,000 km I think they were about 4000 Baht a pop.

Thanks, I will look for a B-quick around here, and i found the website and yes the prices are lower. Thanks a lot guys I am a total Noob about cars. Just smart enough not to go for the first offer without checking prices before.

Main dealer will always top you up. At B-quik you get a written guarantee....

You will get sales talk on other stuff, they will look at your bakes and point out if pads are low, just have a look yourself when it is up in the air if they mention it..:stoner:

The car just had a service yesterday.. so I will decline all other stuff. They mentioned the tires during the service at ford.

I usually use tyreplus. I've seen them stock mostly michelin and maxxis. Maybe others. I have michelin pilot sport 3, but there is now PS4 out. There were above 4400 each for 17" size. You can get cheaper, but I generally don't scrimp on tires.
