BANGKOK: -- It was all smiles at FM 91 yesterday when an honest cabbie returned a purse containing 218,640 baht to its rightful owner.

And he got a nice reward for his trouble.

Atipha Worapornphian, 44, had left the purse on the back seat of a cab driven by 39 year old Panaploen Chaleecheep on Saturday midnight.

The owner had been with two friends and the three had decided to exit the cab early and walk down a very narrow soi by themselves, reported Daily News.

Panaploen drove off and when he was later giving a relative a lift he noticed the purse on the back seat. He immediately contacted the radio station.

He said he used to work as a driver for Honda and when he left that job he became a taxi driver. He never wanted to keep what was not his, he said.

The grateful Atipha gave him 20,000 baht as a reward.

Panaploen drives a Bangkok cab with the license number ทษ Thor Sor) 9899.

Nice to read a story that does not included the evil bitches from Khon Kaen, who sawed their victim's body in half !

Nice touch with the reward too !

BS   .....   who carries 218,000 baht around in their purse  ...

These stories are total BS and made up every few weeks to help stop the public distaste for cab drivers ....   :coffee1:

Here we go again, another BS story about taxi drivers doing good deeds.

A woman travels around Bangkok with over 200.000 baht and just casually leaves it in a taxi, i dont think so.

Did I miss the last "bad taxi driver story" or was this really 2 "good ones" back to back? Preparing for the next bad story ahead of time? Ah wait, planning/preparing, no.
