Has  any one used this. It works for free but asks for donation,as I was using it I send a small donation then a few hours later  I receive a phone call tell me they have sent me a form to fill in which will include a form about me tax status in Thailand. What  concerns me is where they got my phone number and address from. I have since cancelled the donation as  IT sounds a  not kosher. I just wonder has any one else had any dealings with them

Seems to be hosted in the UK so possibly not long for this world.

A potentially dodgy outfit asking for tax status (anywhere) major red-flag.

How did you make the donation payment, paypal?

If so, PayPal and other Credit/Charge Card providers gives merchants access to your information to both validate the transaction (verify that payment details match the billing and potential mailing address provided during the initial order).

How We Share Personal Information with Other PayPal Users

When transacting with others, we may provide those parties with information about you necessary to complete the transaction, such as your name, account ID, contact details, shipping and billing address, or other information needed to promote the reliability and security of the transaction.

If someone is sending you money and enters your email address or phone number, we will provide them your registered name so they can verify they are sending the money to the correct account.

WHY they would need to ask for Tax Status for a 'donation' is a wonder.

Hi jonesthepost.

The information is misleading. I think you mean that Paypal phoned you and asked about tax status? RSTV certainly did not.

Please clarify

Regards

Yes they did RSTV phoned from Manchester, I got the phone call not you.

@Crossy - we are a members only organisation and do not fall under the UK copyright act.

and we do not ask for tax status. Complete nonsense, anyone could go to our forums and ask the members how they feel about the organisation and if we have ever asked even one of them about tax status, why the heck any website (other than Paypal) would do that I have no idea. So these claims are crazy.

I have no idea what this guy is talking about. I did ask if he meant Paypal but he insists it was me who called him - erm.....OK!
He either imagined it, got confused with Paypal (but he insists not) or for some unknown reason he is telling porky pies.

Regards.

In my first post  I said I received a phone call but did not say who made the call. I tried to call the number but the number but no ring tone. The caller then only mentioned your firm by name so I assumed it was from you. I have tried to find out if it was pay pal  but trying  to get a straight answer  out  of them is like trying to get a answer is  not easy as they just pass me  on. So if I got the wrong end of stick sorry but less of the insults, mistakes are made
