A Visit to the Tax Office
There is a big difference between evasion and simple avoidance / not filing based on what I heard. If they decide you should have filed and owe them then you will get a bill with penalties and it could be quite a lot. If you pay it then there's generally no problem - based on what I've heard. It's when you can't pay that there are problems. Same everywhere. But it can become evasion if you declare the wrong amounts or attempt to hide things from them. That's what they would be looking for if they want to get you for evasion. -
