A woman possessed by Phi Pob terrorizes villagers in a scene from “Baan Phi Pob 2008,” the 13th installment of the Baan Phi Pob movies franchise.

AMNAT CHAROEN — “There’s nothing under the sky that Thai police cannot do,” goes the unofficial slogan of the Royal Thai Police – and that apparently includes busting ghosts.

Police were dispatched Wednesday to a rural community in Amnat Charoen province to protect it from a female ghost, or phi pob, said to have been terrorizing its populace in recent months. The operation followed a written request from its leaders, according to a local police chief.

I expect that the BIB will request a doubling of their budget to deal with this menace. And extra overtime.

Just wait until immigration gets involved; Could these be foreign ghosts? Do they have a permit?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Ghostbuster patrols by the BIB. That will put their bravery to the test. And will they be collecting Ghostbusting protection money while on patrol.

I think I need bloody glasses I thought the headline was protect the community from a hungry goat. :shock1:

wow, they cannot go out of their offices to catch drivers breaking the law but will chase hungry ghosts, says a lot about the intelligence of thai police

They can pay me a large sum of cash and I will be a willing sacrifice for the ghost. In the event the ghost doesn't want me, no refunds.

The BiBs will show the right spirit  ...  once they catch it, that is !

Have to spend some cash on special ghost bullets? Ghost guns? Ghost protection vests?

just when you thought there was a glimmer of a chance of thailand escaping 3rd world status

The BIB were hunting spirits in 7-11 the other day trying to get some free hong tong.

I recall that episode, she was threatening them all with sunburn.

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe."

Will there be re-enactments and finger pointing? That is what I will tune in for. Provided they are able to apprehend the annoying apparition with the abnormal appetite.

Coming soon: phi pob crackdown by 99 RTP and 999 uniformed military personnel.  Begins at 9:59 PM, bring your amulets

And something even worse than that, dreaded by Thais, especially hi-so women...............a suntan.

The cops know how to go about catching or controlling ghosts, but have no idea how to catch a criminal (particularly a rich one).

The things you must learn in police school.

If they go on, or are assigned to ghost patrol do they get another medal for their uniform ?

Says a lot about the entire country, not just the police.

I can not believe, what I just read!

...and then I remembered, where I live...

Best place to start looking for these Hungry Ghosts will be in the police stations, a lot of ghosts of people who lost their lives during "interrogations" there I believe.
