Will Huawei apply all updates if I buy from them?

Featured Replies

I am considering a Huawei GR5 2017.   If I buy from the Huawei shop will they apply all available updates for me  before  I buy?  I am particularly interested in the recent update from Android 6 to 7, Nougat which is now officially available.

You can update yourself if it's official update

On many phones, these type of updates can be done "over the air".

But doing a search for this phone's model number suggests here it's not an 'automatic' one button push process.

I have a Huawei Media Pad. The tablet notified me that an update was available. I went ahead and accepted it. It was a huge download but the tablet did everything automatically and it now has Windows 7.

The wife just got a Huawei GR5 2017 this week, I updated it myself but the update isn't to Android 7, the GR5 is listed for the upgrade but it hasn't happened so far.

Software update is simple enough just go to System then System Update, if there's one available it will be indicated and you just press the update button. Simple.

Which one did you buy and do you like it?

Spookily enough I just checked the wife's phone and the Android 7 update was waiting, just downloaded and installed, all working fine.

It is a Huawei MediaPad M3. I didn't want to pay that much for a tablet but I'm glad I did. It has the Harman Kardon speakers and they have great sound and very good volume. They are stereo with one speaker on the top and the other on the bottom. It has 4G for Internet as well as the normal WiFi.. I am seriously impressed with this gadget. I also wanted this screen size. I had a 10 inch before it got dropped and broken and it was too big. the 7 inch is too small. The 8.4 inch is just right.
