Of course and then they could also take a tip from a Japanese Airline and let a disabled tourist crawl the 500 mtrs to their hotel  .  You on drugs or something else hallucinogenic ?

Or they can organize minivans or baht buses to take them to their hotels or whatever.

With the comparison you make, are you on drugs? Or just mental?

500m isn't all that much to walk for normal healthy tourists. I am past my 40's and do it easily even in the hot summer sun in Thailand with 1 suitcase and a carryon.

But ok, tourists need to be pampered. We do need those buses to double park on second road blocking the view of other traffic. Drop-off zones every 500m marked for buses to park make it safer for everybody. The better hotels have parking space for buses on their premises.

It is not like it isn't happening already, I have taken the baht bus from the North Pattaya bus terminal together with a bunch of koreans, that baht bus didn't drive all the way up to the hotel
to drop off those Koreans, some had to walk down a soi to their hotel/guesthouse which was easily 400-500m walk.
I stay in one of the condo buildings in Jomtien regularly, the baht bus drops me off near the entrance and I still need to walk 200-400m depending on which building I am in.

But yeah, when I am on drugs or any other hallucinogenic, it is easy.

One of the biggest coach parks is actually between Beach Rd and 2nd Rd, near the Twin Palms hotel.

The problem seems difficult to solve; it just gets moved from one location to another: Beach Rd to Bali Hai, then back again.

Be patient.

The military rulers are currently too busy ordering raiding bars and cleaning up the beach.

Real problems will be dealt with "later".

Couldn't agree more also ban all boats from parking in water in front of beach and rental chairs and venders from the beach especially in Jontiem before it's ruined like Pattaya .

Buses should be prohibited from entering the city limits of both Pattaya and Jomtien Beach. Tourist drop-off zones should be established and song-tail buses can move them. Besides eliminating traffic security concerns, this would keep traffic moving from the already congested city streets. Lastly, buses can idle their engines nor more then 5-minutes or be fined $10,000 THB to the driver and $50,000 THB to the company for their 1st violations.

You tell them bro. I suggest you run for the Mayor of Pattaya so you can implement these changes asap.

You can try the complaints website, direct to the Mayor of Pattaya. I doubt if it does much good, but it is there for you to use. Perhaps if they get enough complaints about coaches running their engines all day, adding to warming and pollution, they might take some notice. I made a similar complaint a few weeks ago.

I also used the Website two weeks ago to complain and no response (only birds chirping) from the Pattaya Govt.

Easy to cite negative aspects but short on an alternate solution or options. If a sweeping change is done and options for handicap, then it's a win-win for us retirees who live here year long.

Note: these issues need to be raised and addressed now as Pattaya is changing with casinos in the near future.

They should abolish all traffic on beach road all together with the exception of some baht buses and motorbikes. Let people make big loops using 2nd and 3rd road.

For the large tour buses, yeah they should have drop-off zones close to the hotels and have people walk to extra 500m or so to their hotel.

I suggested both your and the OP's "solutions" in the past, but I have no hope that either will be implemented.

As for penalizing "idling", they won't even make the pedestrian lights work, or enforce them if they did, so what is the chance of them penalizing "idling"?

Having lived here for 12 years I never heard a Thai citizen complain about the baht buses.

Why is it foreign guests here complain about everything and cause hate and discontent on line?

And we wonder why the citizens are beginning to dislike us more and more?

Enjoy the country or leave so the rest of us aren't looked down upon and criticized.

You’re a guest so stop complaining.  It's rude.

I assume most of the people complaining are those who travel from A to B in their personal cars containing one or two people.

Maybe they should ban cars carrying no more than one or two people from entering the areas mentioned above. They could establish parking lots east of Sukhumvit for those cars and the occupant(s) could then use song Taeows to come into town.

The let-them-eat-cake crowd seem to have a narrow view of who should or should not be allowed to cause traffic congestion.

before they built the bus station in pattaya the bus from bangkok arrived at the north end of beach road. since this is no longer allowed how can these tourist buses be allowed to do this.

Well.....once they're ready with the bars and cleaning up the beach, the number of tourists will dropp drastically and the bus-issue will be solved.

Before it is ruined? Those chairs have been there over 30 years. Don't whine leave. Tons of beaches all over Thailand without chairs.

you are not chased away from the beach like in Pattaya if you don't rent chairs

This post isn't about Baht buses, it's about the tour buses :)
