There are several barbers shops in Chomsin Road, cheap but not necessarily recommendable. I now go to a more expensive shop in Soi 94, not far from Phetkasem Road. 200 baht for a haircut; 100 baht for a shave, but I now eschew the latter.

Not trying to derail this post, but that sounds rather expensive--B200 Haircut and B100 Shave. Of course, the more farangs the more the cost of most things. Standard haircut in regular barbers are B50-60 in Hatyai. I go to a nice a/c barber shop with all lady attendants and private rooms; Shampoo, Haircut, Shave, and Head, Neck, and Shoulder Massage B180; I also get my hair braided for the same price. I do tip the girl B100, but still save B20 over your cost and get more services.
