electric Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 In Thai Premier League, I know that if a player receives 2 yellow cards in one match, he is then shown red card and sent off the field for the remainder of that match. I understand this also means he automatically cannot play in the following game ie. 1 game suspension. My question is .... is there any suspension penalty for receiving a number of yellows in successive games ? What if a player racks up 4 yellows in 4 or 5 successive games ? Can a player theoretically rack up a yellow card every match, yet play the entire season with no penalty ?
wilai Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Looks similar to the UK ie: 5 yellows = suspension. Transfermarkt (below) shows those on 4 are at risk. RISK OF SUSPENSION Player(s) Club Age Nation Yellow cards Noppanon Kachapalayuk Right-Back 25 4 Chaiyawat Buran Left Midfield 20 4 Seul-Ki Go Central Midfield 31 4 Chutipol Thongthae Central Midfield 26 4

In the UK they are sort of wiped off on Dec 31st. However, I don't think they are totally wiped off if you accrue 10 or more over the season. Can't remember the full law on it
wilai Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 ^ Dunno Mr BJ. Those with 5 have had a suspension this season (altho' they are normally listed as 'not in squad' as opposed to suspended!). No-one has had ten yellows as yet this season as far as I can see. If the 'at risk' list above is correct, there has not been an amnesty as yet.
tso310 Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 As far as I'm aware all those Buriram players will be available to give Muangthong a good kicking on Sunday. Not sure if Diogo will be fit to play but new boy Bastos looks a good substitute.
Bredbury Blue Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Thanks for the heads up. Trying to get the wife interested in taking the kids to impact area to watch leaders Buriram vs 2nd MT. We've been on the Buriram ground tour, got the shirt but yet to go watch a thai game. Be good experience for them to go watch something other than at the Etihad.
tso310 Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Well worth going to the I-Mobile. Personally I prefer the main Yamaha Stand. Dirt cheap to get in at 150b per person for that stand. You can get tickets at the clearly signed posted office at the front of the Yamaha stand or on the day. Attendances at Thai League matches are disappointing. Buriram is by far the best supported but apart from the games with Chon Buri and MT (already played at the I-Mobile) attendances are averaging 14k. Take out those 2 games and its probably about 11k. Great atmosphere when full (32k). Bearing in mind the rain situation I suggest getting a seat higher up in the stand. People don't stand up until a goal is scored so ok for kids. Plenty of refreshment available outside the ground.
tso310 Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 I should also add that parking at the stadium is easy. Getting out is a bit more time consuming. My wife had never been to a football match but she enjoyed it when she finally went. She's even got a shirt but then again I think its the law that if you live in Buriram province you must own a shirt. I've got 2. The quality of the football is not great but the Thais do like to shout and btw you do get travelling supporters who also tend to join in. As I said a good atmosphere and I suspect that also the case in other venues in the league.
