SUWANABHUMI - Over 70's gates

Featured Replies

I understand that travellers over 70 years of age can use (fast-track) a special gate to access Immigration both on Departures and Aririval.

Can anyone identify where the gates are located? I'm told that they are signboarded .

You can use that dedicated Fast Track area, or you can use the main hall areas. As you walk into the main immigration hall, turn right and follow the signs, then you will see Diplomat and Fast Track identified immigration counters. There is also a sign on the way there saying that 70+ can use those counters. There is rarely a queue with more than six or so people in them, and sometimes those are faster than at the dedicated Fast Track/Priority entry area..

I now qualify and have used the fast track a few times, but when I leave Thailand I have failed to find a fast track at Suvarnabhumi and have to queue for ages with all the Chinese and Russians.

Just follow the signs for immigration. The fast track security and immigration has a small entrance below the stairs that lead up to the normal queue. There is usually one or two staff in front of the entrance checking eligibilty before they let you in.

Instead of going left at the bottom of the stairs turn right and there is a roped off area with usually a young lady  in attendance.

If i fly TG (entrance 1-4?) then after checking in I go up the escalator to security and then down again to the immigration area, I have asked staff where the fast track was and they told me they do not have one there.

As these exits are mostly for TG I think Thai airways have their own seperate business class gates.

Maybe for entrances (5-9?) then there is a fast track exit.

I think it is s bit hit and miss how busy security and immmigration is, I usually check in about 1015 am and most times there are a lot of Chinese about, and they love joining 2 queues with their friends and one swops at the last minute.

Slightly off topic, but within the interests of the tribe - I was sitting waiting to board a domestic flight from Suvarnabhumi to Udon Thani. There was a public announcement which, as usual, I didn't quite catch, but saw families with children go to board first. A youngish Thai guy got an came over to me and said that old men were included too.

Not sure about older women.... but a nice gesture.

ThaiSMILE airline I think.

Wonder if at 78 I qualify. But thanks, it's worth a look at Immigration too.

This link :

http://suvarnabhumiairport.com/en/1856-suvarnabhumi-priority-lane-services

(no longer working)

does not connect except to the AOT web site which does not show anything about Priority Lanes for seniors.

I appreciate the posting ( a year ago) but I can't find any new link that shows a map to this area. Can anyone suggest a new web site link.

No worries - as you approach the priority queue, you will see a sign stating that 70+ are eligible to use them.
