It's already gone down to the bottom of the hill.... even in the west all the wars we keep having... where is OK to kill the enemy people...  as its a war.

think we should be trying to stop all these pointless wars rather than using them to justify more killing.

where do you draw the line. where you draw it and where someone else draws it will be different.  other factors is that it (capital punishment) does not seem to deter criminals and it is very expensive.

It is difficult to believe that administering a lethal injection, for example, can be more expensive than keeping a murderer in jail for 20 or so years, also with the risk of a repeat crime if an escape occurs or upon eventual release.

takes about 10 years solitary confinement and millions in legal appeals.

If the Thai police and justice system could be trusted then use the death penalty law already in place.

Just like suicides, carrying out a quick death penalty results in the deceased not being able to talk. Case permanently closed!

That's a fault with the system; not a true reflection of what the financial cost should be.

when your dealing with killing someone you need to go through a fairly involved process. easier to just let them rot in a low cost jail if they are guilty.

The Death penalty does work and is effective. It ensures that the murderer, lke the murderer and rapist in Nong Khai

would not get out of jail to commit more crimes. People who say that the death penalty is not needed have not

had a family member killed by a repeat murderer.

Depends on your stance; I'm all for the death penalty for certain crimes but only if guilty beyond a doubt (e.g. caught red handed, clear CCTV etc.) therefore, no need for multiple drawn out appeal processes. When discussing it with people those against the death penalty tend to go for the "life in prison should be life" argument when pushed but personally I believe that to be "cruel and unusual punishment" - if they are indeed going to be caged with no hope of release why waste the money.

I didn't know that gazpacho soup was meant to be served cold.

Some people are destined not to know ... until it's too late
