Spaniel
Can anyone report on the condition of Siam Country Club road? Around the middle of August we will be visiting the Pattaya Childrens Home which is before you get to the golf course. Is their another way to get there other then Siam Country Club road? giddyup
Go to the end of Nern Plubwan, take a left, cross over Siam CC road (traffic lights), go as far as the next T junction then turn right. This road will take you right around the lake. I believe Siam CC is still impassable.

thaibeachlovers
Pattaya Childrens Home which is before you get to the golf course. Is that part of the Father Ray/ Pattaya orphanage set up? Last I knew, all the places were along Sukhumvit. Google does not help me.
jacko45k
You could come from Hwy 36 side, depends where you are starting out from. Google maps may help. The Sukhumvit end of SSCC Rd was a mess a few weeks ago. Edited August 7, 2017 by jacko45k
ross163103
The construction is around the Soi Pornprapanimit 13 area now, pretty much blocked around that area.
Pungdo
I was down the bottom end towards the lake a week or 2 ago and the last of the new section they were working on was almost complete then and completely passable. So if you go out Nerm Plab Wan all the way to the temple, turn left and go over to Siam Country club (2nd set of traffic lights) and turn right you should be ok. johnnybgood
If the OP is coming from Bangkok, just enter at Bira Circuit and miss out all the road work on the way to Father Ray's. Hope this helps

Just the northbound lanes of 36 that are buggered up right now?
thailand49
I use this road everyday and it still isn't finished... From the top of Sukhumvit, you still can't turn into Soi Siam it is still block off. The construction starts right after the railroad tracks, at this portion it is still unfinished on both side, the portion that is finished is share by cars coming from both direction. They were doing some paving a heading to the top of the road to the railroad tracks but further down Soi Siam there is still a unpaved area that has been leaking water from a pipe for two month and no one has been seen. They are still paving in the area around the KISS restaurant and near the Wannasin market it is still blocked off and work going on. Further down from the market they are still digging around the electrical station which has been going on for near 3 years, and now heading towards as noted Soi 13, which is basically heading back towards the Lake. This particular area is where all the water has been dumping since no drains so each day as they dig to put in the new drains once the surface road is broken they find basically a river under the road. Finally, as noted, if you turn and enter Nernpludwan and head all the way down to the temple you should be able to get to your destination. Good luck...
