Hello Members,

Recently my friend and his Khmer girlfriend that has been living with him in Patts for 3 years went to her brothers engagement on the fourth of august in Cambodia, he returned to Patts and his girl stayed with family for a week and to get her visa,meanwhile she crossed the border at Poipet to go shopping at the big market on the thai side a friend gave her a thai ID but is was a males,long story short she is in Jail in Sa Kaeo and are demanding 200,000 baht to let her out he doesn't speak thai but he thinks there saying it's the same as bail money and he will get it (some if any ) back can anyone give me any information or have heard of this before he has to go Tuesday back to Sa Kaeo,I would respect any comments on this as this is a lot of money for such a small incident Thank You all in Advance

She didn't even need it as her thai visa is still good until the 22nd, but thanks for the help i've heard of people getting off much more serious crime for 1 tenth that much

Hard to even pigeonhole which one of the visa forums it needs to be in since it's allegedly about someone elses Khmer gf illegally entering Thailand and ending up in a Thai jail.

 

FWIW, I think fronting up with the standard 35 k baht (about a thousand bucks equiv) in cash will probably see the bird out of the cage.
