How ur pavements any progress in the widening??

No progress.  Have you noticed when the bigwigs come to Pattaya to do their 'inspections' they always seem to walk in the streets?

Usually  they parade around Walking street only and there are no pavement problems so i guess they did not notice it.?.Maybe in some other decade u will be served.I guess they have traffic blocked and then pavement problem fixed by walking in the streets again good details of u..

Pattaya doesn't need a Terminal 21 to create a traffic chaos........Pattaya will create their own traffic chaos in due course:

- Dolphin Roundabout to be reconstructed

- Pattaya Klaang dug up for some high power electric cables.

It will probably happen right after Terminal has opened her doors leaving Pattaya in an absolute mess with South Pattaya Road as one and only entrance road down town.

LOL> Pattaya "will create their own traffic chaos in due course". Where have you been? Traffic chaos has always been a part of life here since I've been here (over a decade now).

Pattaya will eventually create some type of urban rail system for tourists and restrict car access to the main tourist loop. The more chaos, the more chance of it happening.

It's not the new shopping malls creating the problem, but brain dead people who insist on driving their cars in these areas during peak times and baht buses (they need to go first). There's probably a fair bit of cruising going on too i.e. Young people doing many circuits in their cars just for fun.

All rapidly developing cities the world over had to suffer a lot of traffic chaos before improvements were made. Pattaya is no different.

I nearly moved to Jomtien but ended up staying on the Pattaya side of the hill. Lucky for you as I'm one of the people who shop at and appreciate big air conditioned malls. We could have been neighbours.

Enjoy your secluded life while you can. I'll put money down Jomtien will be home to the next big mall.

Yes there is that massive piece of unused vacant land opposite The Grande Caribbean Condo on Thappraya Road. Must be the biggest vacant plot in town. There is bound to be something built there, either a Mall or big Condo/Hotel development.

What I hope they do on that plot is open it toward the sea somehow, not a "dead at night" kind of thing, but restaurants and small storefronts and some 24/7 police presence to make the area less desirable for the less desired elements that currently frequent and squat on that piece of beach.

T21 opening in pattaya is a good thing, all the real estate agents assure me that property prices will go up!

oh and don't forget quick quick buy property now because casinos will come soon for sure, then property prices will go up.

Allow me to explain.

There are smart people who drive cars - they carefully choose when to drive and where factoring in time of day and traffic congestion.

There are not-so-smart people who drive cars - they don't mind spending hours in grid locked traffic.

Which one are you?

I am the kind who goes to town when i can ,when i am not busy , when my wife is not working with clients , in other words ,when i have the time .

Life is tough for some. Most expats are retired and can choose when to go.

Well there will be 2 big malls in Pattaya with large hotels attached. How hard would it be to re-locate some retail outlets and give over one floor of the mall to gaming? Hilton have casino hotels in Vegas.

You could do what people that don't have cars in Pattaya do. Park your car up on or near Sukhumvit and use the baht buses, or walk.

Walking is good for one, good for the health, good to see what life is like in the real world.

OR, get a m'bike, and stop being part of the problem.

Maybe they can skip all the stores and just make it TM 21 foodcourt as it will be the only busy area in that mall.

I'll bet you're wrong. They'll be plenty of busy areas in the mall...  I'll give you some clues: Chaps, Zara, CC-OO, H&M, Top Shop, Mango, X-Act, Bata, Watsons, Boots, Playboy, Starbucks, Black Canon, S&P, Fuji, MK, Shabushii, Hatchiban Ramen and many more... the list is long. They put these franchises in every big mall in Thailand and they always attract shoppers and make money.

The foodcourt will act as a well-placed magnet to attract shoppers. Being on the top floor, people have to wind their way down after dinner.

I do walk ,i walk along the beachfront near where i live ,not along streets crammed with motorbikes ,tourists and buses spewing out diesel fumes ,still if thats your thing . as for riding a m/bike ,i gave that up years ago ,i value my life . so i will stick to my nice comfortable car ,thank you .

I did mention it in "and many more - the list is long"...

They'll probably put large discount sales stalls in the large open areas in the atriums as they do in BKK... and have year round sales. That's always a very busy area in BKK.

With 2 large shopping malls competing for our business, we'll all be winners... except those who can't get their due to traffic chaos LOL.

Your choice, but you can hardly complain if traffic jams happen due to too many people in cars.

BTW you will be inhaling far more fumes in your car than outside as you are IN the traffic than if on the pavement- assuming you don't take a bottle of O2 along.

Have a nice day

Nah. Plenty of people window shopping in Central. They will just transfer to the far more trendy T21. Hopefully it will be mega for totty.

The serial complainers said Central would be a huge failure.  Serial complainers are always wrong.  Just need to complain and predict doom and gloom so they can feel better about their own miserable lives I guess.

I was on Klang today up by harbor and both lanes both directions were opened.  The power cable project appears finished.  So just go away with your false information looking to predict doom and gloom about everything.

Haha, there is no room for a mall with all the McCondo's going up all over the place.  Yea, high rise condos's and not enough water to service everyone is so much better than a Mall.  You would think they would at least put in a decent grocery store around there somewhere but they are too busy putting up McCondos everywhere.  It's a wasteland of half empty condo's around there.  Don't know why anyone would want to live there.

They said it would take six months
I very much doubt its finished yet !
It was also reported that work would be ongoing 24 hours a day but suspended on weekends and holidays to reduce the traffic chaos.
