BANGKOK: -- The Department of Investigation (DSI) has found 11 administrators of the Port Authority of Thailand (PAT) to have colluded in false overtime claims for staff, causing 300 – 400 million baht a year in damages, DSI deputy director-general Suriya Singhakamol said on Monday (Aug 21).

Pol Maj Suriya said the 11 PAT administrators are nine division directors, one department director and one assistant director.

The DSI accepted this as a special case for investigation in 2014 after PAT representatives filed a petition for it to look into alleged corruption in the state enterprise.

Hello Prayut said he had stopped corruption.

Corruption is so serious here it will never be stopped, it is accepted as the norm.

Even port administrators are colluding to falsify overtime payments, whatever next???

Incredible.
300 – 400 million baht a year in damages.
No controls, no checks and the control mechanisms totaly corrupted.
The fish rots from the head.
These are not small offenses, that has the character of systematic, planned organized theft.
The penalty should correspond to a bank robbery with years in prison,  and not just end in harmless transfers to other posts.

He's certainly done more to stop corruption than any other government in the last 20 years. In fact it's a nice change not to have a government blatantly participating in corruption.

I cannot believe you posted that.

Do as i say not as i do, comes to mind.

You have a junta seize power, make laws excluding themselves from prosecution, that is not the actions of honest people.

Aint the little general and his band of merry men immune from external scrutiny of their unusual wealth, some might call that blatant corruption if they were brave enough...

Same little gang that have given themselves immunity from prosecution, hmm corruption....

Same gang who are giving family members high ranking jobs and promotions, corruption maybe or possibly nepotism...

Yep good to see no obvious signs of corruption from the present master of the trough and his motley crew....

Believe what you like. Can you recall any prosecutions under Yingluk's highly publicised STOP corruption campaign? Do you see the current PM announcing billion baht deals to profit himself, or paying billion baht agency fees to his cronies on deals where the country loses billions more?

Do they have an idea how long it takes to whitewash all the forms for imported, stolen luxury cars? That's not a ten minute job.

According to the OP, the DSI started this investigation in 2014, also the year the junta came to power.

" The DSI accepted this as a special case for investigation in 2014 after PAT representatives filed a petition for it to look into alleged corruption in the state enterprise. "

So perhaps this represents the result of an attempt by Prayuth to stop corruption, or it might even be a delayed-effect of Yingluck's drive on corruption, finally having some result ?  Which do you think ?  :whistling:

Not only do they falsify their overtime records to earn extra spondoolics they also charge an arm and a leg in brown envelopes if you want to import anything :sorry:

Spot on mate, some people cannot/do not want to believe that this lot is just as corrupt as the rest.

Are they? Even if they are, and that is your opinion, why are seeing many corruption cases being publicised and brought to court? do you think the luxury car case would have been allowed to proceed with the DPM driving an untaxed import? Do you think Yingluk would have EVER realised the G2G scam was happening, or would she had continued to ignore the mounting evidence that her government was full of criminals?

Duh?  Can anything be more 'blatant' than police corruption (although there are many decent police)?  :whistling:  Prayut has done some things but stopping corruption is NOT one of them. Some lip service to stopping corruption yes, but that does not mean that the government is not participating in corruption! :post-4641-1156693976:

Off with the rose coloured spectacles.

Off with the rose coloured spectacles.

I didn't say he stopped it, I said he is doing more. And I don't expect the junta to be squeaky clean just a lot better than the pack of thieves they replaced.

PAT union insists no corruption in overtime claims

By Thai PBS

The Port Authority of Thailand’s Labour Union on Tuesday (Aug 22) strongly dismissed massive corruption in his organisation as alleged by the Department of Special Investigation (DSI).

The PAT Labour Union president Rachen Rangmarerng insisted that there was no corruption in overtime claims by PAT employees.

His assurance came after the DSI revealed massive corruption in the state enterprise after almost three years of investigation.
